I have a car stereo that plays not only standard CD-DA (normal audio CDs), but it also plays .MP3 files as well...it is great being able to put 180-200 songs on a single CD. Anyway, here is my problem: I have a number of files that are in a different format, and my stereo doesn't recognise them. I need a program that can convert .WMA or .S3M files to either .MP3 or .WAV format. Does anyone know of such a program, or would I have to do it the hard way (play them to an analog tape, then re-encode the analog tape)? Thanks in advance for any information I can get. WMA I don't know, but I think both WinAmp and Cubic Player can convert MOD, S3M, STM and all those other tracker formats to WAV, and then you can use a regular encoder like Lame to convert the WAV to MP3. - -- /* Soleil "Ra" Lapierre http://www.cuug.ab.ca/~lapierrs */ # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info kraftwerk" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email kraftwerk@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Other questions? I am sure there will be more touring in the future, because they re-started touring only a few years back, which to them, is like last week. I used to live in The Netherlands, and I had a PC with CD copier. I copied lots of CDs and did many various CD trades throughout the world. Now, I copied a lot of CDs for my then fiancee in South Africa, but now I have emigrated to South Africa myself and we got married, so we don't need the copies anymore; I took all my originals with me. I don't have a PC or copier here in Africa, and it will take a while until I can afford one (remember, I can't just go wild and buy one because there's also a wife to consider!). However, I want to trade with these CDs that I have copies of. If you would like any of CDs from the list then please e-mail me on mattwerk@hotmail.com and let me know. Because all of the below mentioned have already been copied, it is just a question of popping them into a padded envelope (without jewel cases - it saves lots on weight and they get damaged in the mail anyway).
