YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i gotta say, its fukkin weird. mobys dancin around playin piano and theres all these weird things floating around too. and he has hair. he kinda looks like a cross between david bowie like 20 years ago and thom yorke from radiohead. also reminds me of mike stipe when he had hair. anyway, how many videos does moby have? i've seen 4 of them:go, revolver (aka "thats when i realize its over"), jbtheme (which amp played a few weeks ago), and this is my dream (saw it on the internet last week). amp is cool again. i used to think it would totally suck because they show the credits for the ideos like they normally do on mtv. but this week they played a whole bunch of new stuff and old stuff they never played before. like they played praga khan "injected with a poison"! and they also played videos by bands i never heard of (mocean worker, anyone? how about swayzak?) and that money mark video they played was just friggin weird. how does money mark fit in with "electronica"? anyway, i also heard that moby was once on the show viva variety on the south park channel...d'i mean comedy central. does anyone know about this? i was listening to modern rock live last nite...squirrell nut zippers was on (woohoo!) and it was awesome, they were talking about negativland! the host max tolkoff quoted them and the band was like, oh yeah, negativland, and one guy said "this is the story of a dog!" i was howling! awesoem. and they made a simpsons reference too! "you're gonna make kwazy kwown industries the laughing stock of the season!" or something like that. whatever. anyway it was funny. ok bye!!!!!!!!!!!!! == "have you ever read 'the boy who cried wolf', bart?" One odd thing I noticed about moby is that his was the only music that my daughter would listen to for a long time. She'll listen to just about anything without complaining now, but for her first few months, all she would listen to without crying was EIW. Rave's crying? Put on some moby, instant contentment. I'd assume it's because the music's so soothing, but she liked Heavy Flow and it's ilk as well. Half the time we could only get her to sleep with some moby in the CD player. Hmmm... Well, the point to this little diatribe is, has anyone else noticed anything even similar to this? Babies, kids, whatever? I guess there's just some undercurrent that everyone can dig, even if they can't control their bodily functions yet. Hmmm... Just a thought. Separated on to two cds, AR/LI is the yen and yang of Man's dualistic nature. A lot of us take pride in the extremes found on EIW and how well they worked. But I couldn't handle them when it came to the US version of Animal Rights. The presentation of the two styles on two CD's was great, i.e. the UK release. I find it interesting that Moby decidedly favors the US version over the UK version. I think this issue has already been brought up, but I prefer the US version, for what was discribed as a "roller coaster" of music, an ambient track or two followed by his hard stuff. I find it much more convenient to have them on one CD instead of messing with two. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Aug 1998 23:44:57 CDT From: "Derek Goodwrench" Subject: Re: (mobility) Animal Rights I think it's better to have the two separate CD's.
