It is very dancey and has a very similar piano part as the 'Na Feel Mix' of EYTM. If you like that mix of EYTM, the you will most likely enjoy "Why Can't It Stop?" The other two songs have been through debates on the list concerning their quality. Personally, I like them both very much, but for some, they are just too repetitive. In any case, I think that the disc is worth the money just for "Why Can't It Stop?" alone... andy gingerbread man ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1998 16:16:21 -0600 From: Daniel Cerman Subject: Re: (mobility) Lopez and Honey Chilidiba9@aol.com wrote: > ....by the > way..what does the Lopez "why can't it stop" song sound like....and are the > other two songs good? love..elie "Why Can't It Stop" sounds a like "Everytime You Touch Me (Na Feel Mix)", but more minimal, and without the EYTM vocal samples. There is a sample of a guy repeating what sounds like "I can't stop!" It's a good dance mix, and Moby has played it in concert too. The other 2 songs are less "accessible" to the Spice Girl crowd. ;) "The Dirty Underground" is a long minimal medium-tempo track that basically consists of a steady beat and sythesizer bloops (and other minor stuff). The bloops become more frequent as this sparse track plays, and finally near the end some lonely strings come in. It's the strings that turn this otherwise dry track into some sort of semi- emotional statement. They're a nice touch. "Everybody Can Do It" is a bit experimental sounding. Maybe not really. But it's some kind of repetetitive loop with what sounds to me like Phil Collins saying "ah hah". The whole track is a bunch of tweaking/filtering of this loop. It's not a bad listen, but it's not something you're likely to play often even if you like it. Personally, I like all three tracks on this CD. Most Moby fans will probably like at least the first track, so I think you should get it. It's also somewhat of a rarity. BTW, CDnow has the Honey singles for $5.99 each. Though insufficient information is given by CDnow, it looks to me like some sort of special arrangement where Mute is distributing them in the United States, like the UK export version of the "Come On Baby" single. But that's just a guess on my part. In any case, $5.99 is a lot cheaper than the usual price for CD singles, including the UK "Honey" singles which are also available from CDnow. It's confusing... I don't know for sure what these cheaper singles are, but my guess is that they're probably the same as the UK imports. Maybe someone can order them and tell us if there's any difference. - --- Dan Cerman http://www.moby.org/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1998 17:26:33 -0500 From: Ade Subject: Re: (mobility) Lopez and Honey >price for CD singles, including the UK "Honey" singles which are also >available from CDnow. I too have seen them on sale, both parts, for $5.99 - a friend a mine who isn't as crazy about Moby as I, picked them up the other day. There are some fairly good remixes on it but personally I like the summer night mix the very best(which sounds like a whole new song) which is on the other into the blue cd. I finally got one of the honey remix cds with the black background. it doesn't have the original version on it. does the original sound a lot different? So far I only like the 118 mix by Moby. Is it worth > getting? IMHO, definitely! I was only lukewarm about "Into The Blue" and wondered how it could be turned into 2 CD singles with a bunch of remixes. When I bought them, I was doing so only because I liked Moby, not because I expected anything good. Well, I got a very pleasant surprise -- they're great! Moby's remixes are top-notch uplifters, and the remixes by others are good as well. DJ Seduction's Uplifting 4 Beat Mix is probably the best remix anyone besides Moby has ever done of a Moby song. Most of the best remixes are on the _Into The Blue Remixes_ CD single, so don't hesitate to buy it! The first ITB single also is nice and worth having, if you can track it down, though the Remixes CD still beats it hands-down. If you don't enjoy uplifting housey music, ignore the above. ;) - --- Dan Cerman http://www.moby.org/ NP: Into The Blue (Uplifting 4 Beat Mix) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1998 23:01:54 -0600 From: Daniel Cerman Subject: (mobility) Honey Anthony Colorez wrote: > I finally got one of the honey remix cds with the black background.
