Hello, SUn here found some info on a movie soundtrack that moby does a remix for here it is SPLENDOR On September 14, we will be releasing the soundtrack to the upcoming Greg Araki film "Splendor." The soundtrack features rare and hard to find tracks by Fatboy Slim, Air (remixed by Moog Cookbook), Blur (remixed by Moby), and Everything But The Girl. "Splendor" opens September 17 in New York, and will open in select cities nationwide starting September 24. Drop by the brand new Splendor website to listen to a few tracks, find out more about the movie and check for premieres opening near you. Well I just wanted to share that with since everyone was talking about war/Vegan/ and stuff like that. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against those people expressing they're opinions but wow that was a long continuing topic. why don't we start again on the sell out topic again too. jk. I'm a happy guy. I have some picts of moby spinning at MN like in May and i don't know where to put them up or send them too so if you could help me out that would be cool, because I want to share with all of you. ok I'm outtie 500 PLUR. - -SUn ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Sep 1999 11:19:23 -0700 From: kimbalina Subject: Re: (mobility) Feeling So Real Q. > > >I think it says something-am-rocking.... > I don't know but I remember hearing "set it up dj" like some one else said. Hey by the way, MOBY isn't gay? Well, it doesn't matter. I'd probably find him even more attractive. But if he's bi, more power to him. I agree that being bi totally ups your chances for finding love, or for having numerous one night stands. :-) I heartily recomend it! And hey, maybe as a birthday present to MOBY, we can all offer to have a one night stand w/ him and bear his children. Maybe start a comune and live in the forest and wear loin cloths, running around w/o shaving and bringing up children w/ names like Skye and Phoenix. Hello, Last nite I had my first moby experiance. It was excellent. I went to Nation(in DC) knowing that the show was 18+, doors opened at 10:00 and we were there like at 7:00...We hung around the gate and meet one other guy waiting for moby, and talked to some of the guys from boom boom satillites(they don't speak much english) and then saw moby's drummer, we explained our situation and he kindly offered to add us to the guest list. yea! then we go walking outside the club for a bit, and what do you know at about 9:00 I see moby walking down the street! I was so filled with joy I cannot express it in words. I ran up to him and introduced myself and we talked for a lil' bit. Then we snuck in through the gate on the other side of the club and got backstage and stayed there until we got kicked out onto the side dance floor. I must say I feel so blessed to have had this experiance, everything worked out well, except getting lost in DC when we left. Moby, if you happen to read this I thank you very much for being such a kind and understanding person. - -Daniel Blackwell _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? My name's Paul Vodra, and I've been lurking in the xmission archives of this list for many months now. I'm 23 and live in Arlington, VA, right outside of DC. My Moby collection is pretty vast due to addiction to ordering rare items over the internet, so I won't bore you with the details of it. Instead, I'll tell you how my experience was last night at Moby's show at the Sting party at Nation. My three friends and I got there around 10:45, and immediately went back to the curtains and waited to get let in to the main room, which happened around 11:20 or so. We proceeded directly to the very front, which my friends were a bit wary about. But four other nice people turned and introduced themselves, and I really ended up hanging out with them when my friends decided we were much too close. The Boom Boom Satellites were all right. I picked up their CD used a few weeks ago to prepare, since I had so loved Faithless and Juno Reactor opening up for Moby the last time he was in DC. I still haven't really gotten into their disc, but the show was fun. We were all pretty stunned by how loud it was, but we were at the very front! Thank god for earplugs. I liked how they drew the curtains between the Satellites and Moby and let Lieven spin tunes. It made the usually agonizing wait between opening and main acts very pleasant. Moby finally took the stage and, of course, blew me away. He is such an energetic performer and such a nice and cute guy. Anyone on this list who hasn't had the pleasure of seeing Moby live should really make every effort to do so, you won't be disappointed. I really went the most nuts during the James Bond theme. I had just finished my last day of work at my crap ass job yesterday, and I really let out all my pent up frustration and joy at being free at that moment. But my high point of the evening was definitely Porcelain. By that point I'd gotten very friendly with one girl in the other group (who's name I bloody can't remember) and we were dancing up close to each other mostly because of everyone around us crushing together. But at that sexy Moby song we really got close and romantic and I just felt great. Afterwards we had nothing to write down each other's digits, so we made hasty arrangements to meet back at Sting next week for DJ Rap. I'm really wondering how I'm going to find one girl in that massive sea of raver girls, but I'll wear my Moby shirt and hope for the best. Thanks for reading/listening to my rant about the best night of a long time for me. Sorry it was so long-winded and scattered. I hope all the other Mobility members who went to last night's show had as great a time as I did. Oh yes, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOBY! Thanks for giving me such a present on your birthday. paul v n.p.
