im 18, live in denver colorado. been a fan of moby since he was on 120
minute forever and a day ago when 'i like to score' came out. i have i like
to score, play and some mp3s strewn about my hdd. guess im not that much of
a hardcore fan as others on this list, but hey, money spends quick and i
have a big wish list };)> .    im a big techno fan in general, opting mostly
for jungle/trance/drumnbass. gets me pumped to hear a phat bassline drop in
front of a fast kick. hmm.. big fan of Mocean Worker, Xdream, Adamx, dj
depth, dj kemp, all the boys back home in the ny scene mostly. great bunch
of people there. underworld, meat beat manifesto, luke vibert/plug,
freestylers, 808state, Moa, luke slater, DJ db, Djrap, Josh Wink, dub
pistols, orbital, TON of others i like.
also an industrial buff... frontline assembly, skinny puppy, pigface, kmdfm,
pig, nin, skold, bunch others in that area too.
also enjoy bowie, iggy pop, jethro tull, tom petty, beatles, led zep, pink
floyd, the cars, police.. all those good old bands that never seem to get
old.
hmmm... i work at a baseball stadim. 0o0o. plan on going to college
eventually for computer programming/html stuff.
<shameless self promotion>in my spare time(most of my time actually) i spend
on my music project, Prixfix. just me remixing stuff. check out my page(link

I heard the new Leftfield album called 'Rhythm & Stealth' is REALLY good,
(rel. date 30 Sept. I believe..) I LOVE their new single 'Afrika shox'  with
raps by Afrika Bambaata.  Check out the video clip of this one, it's really
weird! :)

So I think Play is going to get some heavy competition!

hey
i was just perusing the 'mobility' archives and i thought that
i'd answer some questions...

1-i do not have a girlfriend.  where did this rumour come from?

2-i'm not involved in making porno movies.  my friend paul made
a movie called 'porno' and i helped to pay for it.  it's a comedy
set in a sex-shop on christmas eve and it's kind hearted and there's
no sex in it.  two people do kiss for about 5 seconds, though...

3-i did a photo shoot for calvin klein, yes, it's true.  i did it
cos some of my other musician friends were doing it(john spencer, shirley
manson), and so that i could give the fee($5,000) and the clothes($5,000
worth) to homeless charities.

4-the whole sell-out issue...the marriage of art and commerce is a
complicated thing.  i don't want to 'sell-out', but i do want to
keep the record company happy so that i can continue to make
records.  a lot of the stuff that i do(mtv, etc) i do to reach more
people, and because it's interesting.  the marriage of art & commerce
was certainly at it's most intersting at the video music awards...

i guess that's it..  i'm heading to florida now to play in the hurricane.
then on to atlanta and charlotte(really.  i'm not making this up.  maybe
the hurricane is a fan...ha. ha.)

one other thing for the list...

some of the things that i do in my professional life(not to mention
my personal life) end up being things that with hindsight i judge
as mistakes.
examples:
1-re-recording 'that's when i reach for my revolver' as 'that's when
i realize it's over'.  this was a mistake.  i regret it now.  luckily
the original version lives on while the sanitized version has been
consigned to the dust-bin of history.
2-wearing a body-stocking in the 'move' video.  ugh.  
3-throwing the occasional tantrum on stage when things don't go well.
etc.
hopefully we learn from our mistakes?  it's not for arbitrary
reasons that i call myself the little idiot.  i'm little and i'm
an idiot:)
so if i do something that seems weird or distasteful, there's a good
chance that with hindsight i'll see it that way as well.

list, but after seeing moby at those two shows i became a fan =) he rocks! i 
think his stage presence is incredible, his fans treat him like hes a god or 
something!! its pretty cool.  I was kinda disapointed cause i watched the mtv 
awards just cause they said moby was gonna be on it, and they had him on it 
hardly at all! oh well right. Um little bout myself, i'm 18 almost 19, 
female, i live in CT, and i LOVE music, i want to do anything in the music 
biz for a career, but i'd really really like to be in a band, unfortunatly 
noone in my hicktown seems to have ever even heard of "music" before because 
the only shit i hear them callin music is like puff daddy, and britney spears 
crap! ugh. well nuff outta me. Anyone else on here like and rock bands too, 
my fav band is fuel, i know them and moby are completely different, but like 
i said, I LOVE MUSIC, all different kinds too! if anyone likes fuel or 
sliverchair, veruca salt, garbage, hole, lit, korn, virgos merlot, vertical 
horizon, Our Lady Peace, or nirvana, email me or somethin! =)

You say your 14 aye, thats pretty cool man, I'm 19, 20 in November, and
even I feel like and old man.  I got into Moby when I was around 17.  I
wished it was earlier cause you'll see that you will go through sum rough
times and I wish I had Moby to listen to back then.

hey i havent been keepin up with billboard much
(skool) but i noticed yesterday that BROCK was n. 50
on the top 50 mtv charts. so they are playing it, just
like 3 times a week. as in, 120 and AMP. damn.

right, and PLAY hit like 121 a few weeks ago! yay!

also, on Sockheads, at least my pal Morgana (who has a
letter printed in SPIN this month!) is sticking up for
Moby, saying that he, like any other electronic
artist, doesnt get any respect on MTV. i mean, he just
spun without them even saying "THIS IS MOBY"
i mean in the new bilboard it sez how Fatboy Slim is
probly gonna sell a lot more records cuz of this
exposure. if they actualy said who MOBY is, they'd say
the same of him.

MOBY probly played other music thatn his own. he never
plays his own when he DJ's right? like when DJ LARS on
the real world DJed in 95, they dubbed mainstream crap
over the underground house he played, so noboy really
knew what he sounded like. so probly same with moby.
