I think we talked about that the last time it aired. It reminds me of when Pearl Jam was huge and the chick from Family Matters was all "I just can't get Ten out of my cd player!" Yeah, I bet they paid her to say that. And you know, they paid the guy who looked at the cd to say that, although he might agree in real life. TV scares me. It's CMT for me. OT: And I know that sounds weak but MTV doesn't play music anymore and VH1 is annoying and they shut off where I live after a certain time. Why can't there be music channels that *play music*? At least CMT plays almost non-stop music, even if it is country. I'm being warped. Hoi there, as per suggestion from the automated welcome note from joining the list, i'm sending this, my "hello my name is" sticker, - ---> as it was suggested by Mark ! * Name - - Sven lauwers (belgium) * Age - - 29 * What is in your Moby collection - - I am a mix collector, not a collector of the medium, only few official mixes are missing, mostly the hard to get German remixes and others offcourse, but eventually I will all buy and have them.... one day - -cds i'm waiting to arrive in the mails still: Run on German 12" with these two fine Plastic Angel remixes, they will come in one of these days. So is the double UK promo of James bond theme and the double US promo of Everytime you touch me, each contains exclusive mixes! And I just ordered the L12 of WDMHFSB, because it contains a different version on vynil (PS: I record all vynil on CDr immediately after I bought them) - -7"s: none (yet) - -video: none - -mp3: no, against these things, only when it comes down to really really strange and exclusive tracks. I don't have the possibility to download either so that saves me from it - -related: I would if his sister had nice ti... oops sorry, no not related! * Where you first heard Moby, and how much of a fan you are - - I like most of the electronic dance work, first track I heard was Go, way back then (in a far and distant first millenium), that is where I discoverd Moby being on Mute Records, since I am a Mute collector.... My favourite track is Run On - Plastic Angel mix (that one is mega coooool) * Other artists you like - - Komputer (the top!)/ Nitzer Ebb (the best)/ Fortran 5 / Peach / I start counting / Erasure / Yazoo / Depeche Mode / Elegant Machinery / SPOCK / Westbam / Kraftwerk and all other good electronic dance stuff I forgot to mention here * Any other interesting information you wish to share - - i'm very interested in finding people to trade rare/live/unreleased tracks with - -i am frontman of the Belgian EBM (nitzer ebb/daf related) band IONIC VISION (our fourth CD is out since December) go and have a look at : www.dsbp.cx/ionic and find out more about me and my band - - synth music rules my twisted mind, day, night and beyond I recommand people to listen to the latest double CD compilation called Zillion Part 6. It is the best in dance-electro one can find on one CD at the moment, splendid, no words for such good music! My information, hope this helps you guys out getting to know me better (although I won't post too much, more like reading the forums) Greetings from belgium (and to Bart Van Eyck, hallo maatje ik ben der hier ook geraakt) _________________________________________________________ < jen fa ti; ti fa t'sien; t'sien fa tao; tao fa tzu-jan. > >=======================================================< < mark.lsds.com/ www.djmagic.com/mark/ www.djmagic.com/p/ > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jan 2000 11:27:43 EST From: Chilidiba9@aol.com Subject: Re: (mobility) OT Electronica without drugs ? personally i don't care...i'm not bias or look down on people who do drugs at clubs or parties...it's their body and their decisions...i'm not there to criticize people and analyze people..i'm there to dance and enjoy myself...elie ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jan 2000 11:45:46 EST From: Insrtbrain@aol.com Subject: Re: (mobility) many things in 1ne post (as i often do) In a message dated 01/05/2000 5:18:42 PM Pacific Standard Time, DDscorpi16@aol.com writes: << that, man! but anyways i was thrilled to see that moby was 3rd in the spin top 20 and honorabale mention along w/ nin and some other talented artists in rolling stone >> I was about to vomit when I read the RS's editor's picks.. They chose Chemical Brothers as Dance/Electronic artist of the year, but surrender (which isn't a bad cd) wasn't on the top album's list, but Moby's was.. How does that make sense? And the real insult (well not to moby fans) is Kid Rock being named Male Artist of the year with Beck as runner up... but Kid Rock's album wasn't on the list or mentioned anywhere and Midnite Vultures was all over the place... Just want to slap those RS people. What was really funny was when Christina Aguleria picked Play as her favorite album.. That was odd. And on the grammy's thing, I would be estatic if Moby won, but realistically he probably won't... He's not really alternative, but Play isn't really Dance/Electronic... So you can't really categorize it.. but NIN or Tori will realistically probably win. In an ideal world, I would go with Moby, with Beck's Mutations at a close second. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jan 2000 12:50:01 EST From: Insrtbrain@aol.com Subject: (mobility) Moby on the Grammy nods "It's just weird because I make records in a very, very different way than, I think, most people who are nominated for a Grammy makes records.
