All of them are incredibly talented performers and artists who participated in the CK jeans ads. Beside each of the pix is a little quote from the artists. I personally have no problem with any of the photos. Most of these artists with the exception of a few are not as well known and are new and up and coming. I think music is really evolving into a plethera of new sounds, and these artists want to expose people to their sound and Calvin wants to sell a pair of jeans. Sounds like a fair deal to me. check this site out to see all the artists and hear a sound clip! http://www.mtv.com/mtv/marketing/ckjnetwork/flash_player/ Garnet ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Apr 2000 20:12:18 -0500 (CDT) From: Chris Bourke Subject: RE: (mobility) suCK > Can someone tell me where Moby sold out again to CK? Good for you, I myself am going to study abroad in japan at Senshu Universtiy this coming semester(remember people, I need volunteers to keep the ftp up...). Anyway, to help you, go to the ftp site: ftp://129.93.212.27 and go to the "pictures" subdirectory in the Moby directory. There you will find a file called "Moby CK.bmp" and you can see the full color advertisement for yourself. This is actually an older ad(it was up a few weeks ago, or perhaps months on a huge billboard in NYC). Recently however the ad campaign has expanded, this month the ad appeared in several magazines, and, to my suprise was on the back of every single marvel comic this past month. The revenue and clothes that Moby received were all donated to charity. Also, his pose is hardly indicative of a crucifix, if I remember correctly this same pose and movement can be seen in the Natural blues video(I may be wrong). Hi guys.... since some one posted that the ck photo of moby was available at the ftp site... I realized we could post something there other than music. So, i've posted the autograph that moby gave me when i saw him in Dallas on the back of the club "all access" pass i begged off the roadie for "boom boom satellites." I colored it and saved it as a BMP file so that it makes that extra special desktop wallpaper for windows. It's at: ftp://129.93.212.27/Moby/pictures/ Enjoy. ===== Bradley S. I have uploaded them to the video subdirectory. It's split up into 4 parts, each only 5-6megs. Also, if you intend to view them, you may need to d/l a new decompressor codec. Specifically its in Intel Indeo, so if it won't play, please go to intel.com and find the proper files. Also, instead of vid capturing the Natural blues video(a version is already on the FTP), I took 2 different stills at high resolution and edited them so that no MTV logos appear on them(fuckers!), you can use them as wallpaper if you like... they are in the pictures/wallpaper directory. Matthew, This had me laughing out loud and how I wish Moby would do this just to shut these whiners up. It kills me how an artist basically can't win in the eyes of certain "fans" and I would hate to be in Moby's position with so many expectations from the "fun police" fans on this list. Instead of worrying about what Moby does inhis life, concentrate on your own damn life and make THAT better. Moby's music should be all it's about. The guy can't win, because he has expressed so many views, people are just waiting to shove them back in his face when he does something different. It's terrible to have to live up to that. As Prince sang in his song "Dream Factory", "I can't live up the picture that they paint". Moby is just a MAN like any other man, he is not perfect. Quit blasing him over inconsequential bullshit like this CK ad. Who friggin cares? I'm a big Prince admirer and there can be no artist who is as much a dick to his fans as he is, but it doesn't detract from his brilliant musical catalog, nor should it. > He's just a man, he's going to do things he wants to do and I don't feel he > should justify it to anyone else but himself. Amen. As long as Moby is happy with what he does, than I am happy. That's all I wish for anybody is happiness and he doesn't have to justify shit he does to the whiny "fans" to make that happiness.
