If you know the dj well enough, see if he will loan you the master DAT or MD or let you come to the station to copy it. I've had great success getting to know on air people at the local stations and often, if they like you well enough, it's far enough after hours, and you bring your own media, they will let you borrow materials or use their production room to copy stuff. A lot of them will even give up collectible syndicated programs with great live recordings on them from Westwood 1 and outfits like that. ===== Bradley S. Monday 9-18! Hey Kids! Saw the Man last night @ the Warfield here in SF. One of the best shows I've ever seen, and I've seen lots in my 31+ years. A truly amazing performance. BUT, the reason I write is to share a very kool story. One of the last songs of the night was "Feeling So Real" (which was incredible!!). As Moby introduced it as "one of the best disco songs ever" a young male audience member began to climb up the monitor on stage left. The song was rockin' away and this kid is swinging from the speaker cables having the time of his life (he's at least 20-30 feet above the audience). MEanwhile, as you can imagine, security is going COMPLETELY apeshit trying to figure out how to get this kid down. After a bit, the kid decides to climb down onto the stage to try to dance with Moby. Three (yes 3!!) security guards immediately pounce on the poor kid and rather violently try to remove him from the stage. Moby notices, screams "STOP!" into the mic, and the entire band stops on cue. DEAD silence in the place. Moby walks over to the security, grabs one, pulls him off the kid and says "There's no need to act that way. No harm was done. No one is hurt. Just let him go back into the audience." Security walks away, Moby puts his arm around the kid and says, "Are you having a good time?" Of course the kid goes nuts, and he's helped back to the audience. Moby then says "anyway...." and restates the quote about the disco song, the band launches into it and restarts the song. The crowd was going crazy. It was an awesome display. One of the best moments I've witnessed in a live show. ...p.s. i might have some lo-lo-lo-fi recordings or snipets of a couple songs...we'll see how they turned out...peace - -M __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
