However from the artists point of view I can understand why they see the internet as good way to distribute their music, they don't have to wait for approval of record companies, no more stuff lying around that will probably never be released. But for people like me, collectors of physical sound carriers this movement from conventional soundcarriers to distribution over the internet is a disaster. Not that I like record companies that much, but to me an album is more than 11 seperate tracks on a round piece of plastic. Like a painting an album is a pice of art: Original painting = Original master recording Museum = Concert Official replica = Album Digitized picture of the replica = Mp3 So if someone tells you he/she loves art and want to show you their collection, do you expect to be placed behind a computer screen? The same with music. If someone tells me he/she is a huge Moby fan do you expect to hear Moby through a crappy PC speaker set? Oh well, must be because I grew up in the 90's...
