Hah. What, you think I'm getting paid vast amounts for this? Or maybe you
think I've got a day job, or I'm a student and writing is just a hobby.

well I, for one, found it to be very interesting and scintillating. I hope
the rest of the book is as good, but Moby is such an fascinating and
mystifying character, It would be hard for it to NOT be. (unless, of course
it was horribly written, which it obviously was not in this case). The best
of luck to you in regards to the book, and perhaps I will buy it myself when
it comes out in the spring (is that right?) Oh well. bye now!

Subject: (mobility) Unreleased remixes
I was browsing throught moby-online.com (something I hardly ever do) and I
found a list
of remixes Moby did for other artists. I noticed a few strange tracks:
N-JOI - Mindflux
NO DOUBT - Bath Water
FREDDIE MERCURY - Living On My Own
DEPECHE MODE - Rush
INTERACTIVE - We Are One
Ok we knew there were some unreleased remixes for Depeche Mode, but I've
spent some
time searching for the others, but I couldn't find anything Moby about them,
so I guess they
also weren't released...
I love the N-Joy track (the original, that is) it's a really nice old school
techno track.
I also love Living On My Own, I bet those Moby mixes of this song were good!
Does anybody have any more info on these supposed remixes Moby did?
Bart

Some interesting thoughts, Bart. I grew up in the 70's and 80's so for me
it's very disconcerting sometimes. It seems like this is the future of
music. Speaking of crappy speakers, I can't get mine to work nor headphones
because my multi-media card is a zillion years old and I can't afford a new
one. So...I miss out. Anne

Ordering a cd from the UK because V2 is ripping off the American market is
not too much to ask?
I rather not HAVE to resort to ordering imports just to get a widely
distributed
U.S. Release. I mean damn, I can't get a decent deal in my own country.

CD-WOW has the (really hard-to-find) single disc of Play the B-Sides in
stock for £6.99 ($10.20 in U.S. dollars). and they say they have free
delivery too!
that's not too much to ask, i don't think, especially for one disc...

Subject: (mobility) Napster...
The BBC News sez:
"Napster's chief executive Hank Barry has told BBC
News online in an exclusive interview that users will
soon be charged a membership fee.
"Mr Barry also said royalties would be paid to artists
whose material is swapped over the internet with the
help of Napster software."
PERSONALLY... If the royalties are really going to the
artists themselves, as opposed to big retarded clunky
record companies, then I think it's absolutely
fabulous.
The article goes on to say that the fee system could
be in place as early as June.
Aa college student who had to bum money to order pizza
last night, I don't have Napster money at my disposal
right now, so I'm probably going to cancel. At least
for now. Sigh. Oh well. It introduced me to the Manic
Street Preachers, at least. And Squarepusher. And the
Fucking Champs. And a whole lot of random Beck that
you can't find anywhere else. And like 800 other
bands.
Sigh. What the hell am I going to do with myself?
Justin.
