I've gotten over seeing Moby in countless exaggerated angles (a pair of holes in his neck, etc). In my own gramma way I have the right to long for the small shows, artsy/abstract videos - the good ol days. Even though a track well used in a really good film has been really cool. Anyway Moby is still Moby, and April still feels too damn far from now :] It's just sad that what it takes to break a genius wide into the minds of some lemmings is not the music alone. That might come a little later. First you kinda have to hammer it into familiarity, then, to make sure nothing fails, put a pretty face on it. Whatever it takes for more people to buy buy buy, even if they look at the CD later & say "know what? I never really liked this; it was a bit weird for me...where's my Matchbox 20?" He got recognition long before a second wave of distorted recognition came alongside it. That's reality, but I don't HAVE to like it in order to like Moby. Atleast I can be glad another "Play DVD" wasn't made. - ------------------------------------------------------ These are HIS words: "I have been the artist with the longest career, and I am so proud and honored to be chosen from heaven to be invincible." - Michael Jackson (Is he dissing Paul McCartney AGAIN? Who's had the longest career, Michael? And define "artist".) "Michael Jackson doesn't look too healthy in person...I stood next to him for a minute, and forgive me for being concerned, but something doesn't seem to be quite right there. I hope that someone looks after that poor man. He didn't look so well." - Moby. "I actually kind of wish that more public figures would inhabit the weird places that people like Michael Jackson seem to inhabit...I'll do my part. I'll get plastic surgery to make me look like a Bajoran from Star Trek." - Moby. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I know this is so off topic but as a huge Faithless fan when I see them come up I have to throw in my two cents. I actually love "Outrospective" but "Muhammad Ali" has been panned by a lot of fans so you're far from alone in thinking it's shit. It's one of my least favorites on the CD but I still think the music is incredibly funky. And to make this Moby related....... uhhhhh...... has anyone ever heard of this RARE Moby song, I think it's called "Southside" that he did with some obscure underground female singer, Gwen Stefani I think is her name? If anyone knows where I can track down a copy of this RARE track please let me know, apparantly it's rarely been heard. Sorry, had to contribute to the sarcasm on the list. I love it. Hi there gang! Just thought I would say my comments on the Moby remix of What's going on? I have the Uk version of the cassette (what's that??? I had no idea other formats existed. I just thought it was 5 cd singles!!!) I was interested to hear about this (a non-moby friend pointed it out to me (they bought it because of Britney!!!) as I don't think Moby has done any remixes recently. After the normal version of the song (which I personally don't like, but hey, it's for charity), I waited with bated breath. Wish I hadn't bought it. It has to be one of the most boring, repeatative, predictable and unimagitive mixes I have ever heard from him (or anybody for that matter) i can not write anymore, I am too upset :-( __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hmm, sorry perhaps my choise of words was not really appropriate, please let me explain my point of view: Having a signed Moby cd is really cool (have one myself), but only because of the memory that comes along with it (that one time you met Moby, or like me that cool contest right here on Mobility I won the cd in etc.) Without the memory, the CD becomes a 'damaged' item, with writing on the cover, it's the memory and the story of how it got written on that make it cool. So why would you buy a signed CD on eBay? Buy some fandom? I think that's sick. You are fan or you are not a fan, you don't need material stuff to prove you are a fan. If you want signed stuff, enter contests, go to concerts, but buying some on eBay everybody can do...
