But they were much better on the song with Angie Stone as they had a dedicated camera for almost the whole song and the sound quality even improved a bit for that performance. I did at least given that they announced just about every other performer that was on but not even a mention of Moby. That in its self was wrong. But then give the mention of all the dance music being played and seeming to be in the spot light at the walk in at the start of the closing you would think that they would at least give the world a look at our small bald hero. But alass NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo, but on the bright side folks Moby was at the the show and his music was heard by a ton of people. For that I jumped up and down on my sofa. love Bri - --- Flash1000@aol.com wrote: > I saw Moby Close the ceremony... he got a little > more coverage than before, > but that wasn't difficult since he didn't get any > last time!!! ughhh that > made me so mad too, i waited all fuckin week for > that! Radio" has invalid JavaScript, that SwapImage script thingy doesn't work. Could be because I have an ancient version of IE4 :) Then: I really don't want to install Quicktime. Quicktime is for a Mac, it totally f*ckes up a MS Windows machine! Finally: Why didn't Mute encode it to mp3? Mp3 is a cross-platform easily streamable standard! Aloha to you all, First of all this: Moby played at the closing ceremony NOT to promote songs of his forthcoming album 18!! - although his record company might disagree. He performed there to give the athletes a good time! His part was to entertain the public and to invite the athletes to come down into the ring and have a good time - dancing. So please stop jammering about "not enough exposure for 'our' little baldy" ... And for the record: he played "We are made of stars" and "In my heart" (with miss Stone) of the new album ... Second of all: I don't know zip about the (MS)NBC covering ... I bet you guys get loads of commercial breaks inbetween. At least that's the way we from Europe guess things are done overthere ... I stayed up a good deal of the night to see the show (Dutch television, 3:00 - 4:30 AM), and captured Moby's performances onto my harddisk (Pinnacle TV card). The footage as shown on TV had a lousy sound quality (soundboard ànd live echoing inside the stadium at the same time), but still, in my humble opinion, a nice show ... The part with the 'stickmen' and the 'neon paint' reminded me somewhat of the opening ceremony of Albertville in '92, which was the ultimate experience (French theatre group, music by Dead can Dance). Would make a great videoclip, if you ask me. Also, the deal with the giant snowballs was, well, nice .... It has been done before, but it fitted into the whole scheme of things ... I do agree with most of you that the choice of artists besides Moby was somewhat ... weird ... to say the least. Kiss, Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, not 'my cup of tea' ... Third of all: I came home from work this afternoon to see most of it again on the BBC this afternoon (UK TV - and captured Moby again, better this time - less TV reporters comments). So here I am with this footage and absolutely no clue how to get this to you fans. Bart, is your FTP still up and running? And most of all, capable of holding about 400 Mb of avi files?? (Or 300 Mb of zipped avi?) Rob PS And no, there are NO commercial breaks ... - ------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to majordomo@xmission.com with the line "unsubscribe mobility" in the body. ------------------------------ End of mobility-digest V4 #672 ****************************** ------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to majordomo@xmission.com with the line "unsubscribe mobility-digest" in the body.
