Swarthout [mailto:gregorys@xmission.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 01, 2000 6:30 PM To: Nintendo 64 Mailing List Subject: [N64] Contest - Sort Of Stay with me on this one: There is a website out there called PayPal.com at which you set up an account to allow for credit card payments to people who don't normally accept credit cards. What happens is that you register (securely, natch) a credit card with them and then you are given the opportunity to "beam" money to people via email. Basically, your card gets charged for the specified amount and the recipient is sent an email saying how to collect it. They can then either deposit the money directly into their checking account or choose to have a check sent to them via snail mail instead. It's pretty slick and is a good way to pay if you participate in online auctions. What's cool about it is that when you sign up, you are automatically "beamed" $10 into your new account (which you can then, of course, direct deposit or have sent to you via snail mail). If someone referred you, they also get $10 "beamed" into their account. All of this leads into my contest idea: If 7 (or more) of you will sign up with the following link (referral by me), I'll draw a name from those 7 (or more) people to be the recipient of their choice of Nintendo 64 game. $70 should be enough to purchase any game in the N64 library and cover postage as well. If you are one of the 7 (or more) people, but not the contest winner, you'll still end up with the $10 for joining, so it's a win-win situation. If fewer than 7 people join, we'll come up with some lesser prize (controller, rumble pack, whatever) that is appropriate for the given amount. I'll know when you join, so your contest entry will be automatic. I'll give y'all 2 weeks to do this so the contest ends on February 15th. Good luck! The Rampage games by Midway were also $20. Tonic Trouble cost me $15 at EB. For my psx I purchased LAPD 2100 for $10 which, IMO, was a steal. You know, the problem, for me, is that most of those titles should be $20 titles to begin with. Why is it Turok 2 and Kobe Bryant are $20 and Wave Race 64 and Shadows of the Empire are $40? Dolphin's coppermine technology prevents processor from overheating and allows more, quicker data flow (copper is a better conductor than traditional materials). Although PS2 can play DVD movies, don't expect to just pop it in and play.
