The darn AOL timer. (Get Alive 2.8 for that) And the busy signals. > That good enough? I never get busy signals. I think busy signals just depend on where you live. They are a product of popularity. If eveyone suddenly left AOL and went with other smaller ISPs (like many of you seem to think should happen) they would all have busy signals too. AOL gets the brunt of the internet explosion. The AOL timer is bad, but it no longer cuts you off during a download anymore so I don't think it is an issue. As for system resources...never noticed anything myself....maybe you need more RAM. And as long as your comp is doing something it will not disconnect you because of inactivity. - --David [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Mar 2000 19:30:52 EST From: SKURGE@aol.com Subject: Re: [N64] X-Box....(bye, bye PC) In a message dated 3/12/00 2:06:06 PM Central Standard Time, Nutz4n64@aol.com writes: << << OK. that is another thing...people are always downing AOL, but what for? I've had that problem up until I downloaded 5.0. Now that I have 5.0, supposedly a better and faster system, it always hooks up with a slower connection than 4.0. If anyone doesn't use it, do yourself a favor and don't start. -Eric- >> I use it and my connection is fine. you must have crappy phone lines or something. Skurge I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
