It is still very early. The PSX > had serious RAM limitations....you figure it out. When all the consoles are on the same level RAM wise, yes. it may not be such a big deal. But consider this. Dreamcast has more VRAM than the PS2, X-box will have even more and so will Dolphin. Developers are complaiming about ps2's lack of ram in the same way theycomplained about the Nintendo 64's cartridge format. And however you slice it the problem is there or the developers wouldn't be whining so vehemently and their games wouldn't look so crappy. What I find humorous is how Daily Radar is rationalizing it.... its not a big problem because naughty dog knows how to stream 1.5 megs worth of level data on the fly withj playstion games. wow. sounds a lot like the 2:1 compression ratio we used to throw around with the n64 games. - -- Dexter S. Dan has written an eleven page report on the game! I didn't read the entire thing, but I looked at the end for the numbers. Every category received 10/10 except for replay value. That one got 11/10. He's not pushing it a bit, huh? Anyway, the review is all right here. http://www.rarenet.com/games/pd/danreview.htm - -Eric- [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 May 2000 23:55:15 EDT From: DarkBastion@aol.com Subject: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Re:=20[N64]=20Bad=20news=20for=20Pok=E9mon?= <> They are idiots.
