Sound good? > Also have ya played Timesplitters yet? What's it like? > I can't wait for that one. Love it....the main thing I have been playing is SSX. That game is a blast. To give you an idea of how good it is, I don't even like racing games...I don't own a single one. Yet, I heard so many great things about SSX that I had to give it a try. Now I am addicted....best game I have played in a long time. I put in a couple DVDs to try them out...work perfectly. The video quality is as good as my standalone DVD player. The only problem is the DVD movie interface (the controls) is a little clunky. So navigating menus and if you want to rewind or something can be a little tricky. But if you don't already own a DVD player and you are interested in even a couple of the games, then the PS2 is a perfect choice. I have not played much of Time Splitters yet....I have spending most of my time on SSX and now a little on Zelda. I have played it for a couple minutes though.. the graphics are very good...nice and clean. I am having trouble getting used to using a controller for a FPS game after playing UT on PC so much, but I'll adjust. I still can;t find that dang "4 channel sound" option that is mentioned in the instructions...and that is pissing me off...but I wrote Eidos support to get some answers...so I expect to have that resolved in a couple days. I also have Madden 2001...played a couple games of it...great game. Again, very clean graphics. One thing I did not expect (and is kind of cool) is that you can use all the European teams (Claymores, Rhein Fire, etc...). All in all, I stuck with 3 of the highest rated games that interested me...and all turned out to be great choices. Now wait a minute...tell me how that is different from any other menu-driven RPG....they all pretty much have a check/select button and a cancel button...just like FF8. Now I can understand you not liking the story or if you felt there is not enough exploration...but saying an RPG is bad because it uses too few button is VERY shallow and quite pointless. Anyway, at some point you just have to accept that a lot of people actually do like the game and a lot don't...you fall into the latter (as you have told us way too many times). What is the point of telling Michael that "FF8 is bad" when he obviously likes it? Seriously, we already know you don't like it. So you might as well quit bringing it up...EVEN when someone says they don't lie a Nintendo game....so next time someone says they don't like a game that you like...try not to start up with your "I don't like FF7/8" rant...ok?
