You didn't check IGN?  I'm sure that they reviewed it.  I think they said
Paper Mario was better (although the battle system is a bit different from
the typical RPG).  If PM is out over there, I'd definitely go with that
one.... after Conker.

Ah, gotcha.  Early on, it is a bit difficult to figure out what to do next.  
I remember, after beating Sloprano, I couldn't figure out where to go (only
had $800 and didn't do Bat's Tower yet).  That's the only time I looked at
the IGN guide.  After that, though, I found it progressed rather nicely.

Well, let's put this way. If you were to randomly pick up a DC game off the
shelves, and each time it were a different game, there's a 50% chance you'd
get a good game.

And just off the top of my head, the two games I'd recommend the most are
DOA2 and PSO.
