Maybe, but IGN cube isn't too keen on it and I don't like the look of it.
Maybe I'll hold on to it if it doesn't look so repulsive up close, but, if
not, it's off to another store with that one. ;-)

Blech. I can't stand IGN's forum. I was there for a while (under name
Takeshi64), but I've stopped posting since it was such a dull place.

Don't even think about it, Dave. ;-) She's almost 18 now (her birthday's
two days after mine). Lately, though, she hasn't been playing games. Says
she wishes she had more time for it, though, so I think she still likes
games.

Dull? How long has it been since you visited there? On the GC General
board alone there has been 15 pages of topics (not posts, topics!) thus far
today...not counting the numerous threads that have no doubt been deleted
off the board all together for being off topic or for excessive flaming.
I've actually seen at least two people that have over 20,000 posts to the
boards. I have well over 900 myself.

The IGN boards have always been too busy for me. I like boards like PGC's.
That reminds me, I have to check out Cloudchaser's soon too.

With all the hoopla with the upcoming X-Box and Gamecube consoles, I =
keep hearing this feature being mentioned, but nobody says what it =
really is. So what the heck is Bump Mapping anyway? The X-Box and =
Gamecube can do it, and the PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast can't. But what =
is it?
I'm just guessing, but I'm thinking it applies to how textures can be =
put on polygons. Like on a car in say, SEGA GT (Dreamcast), where the =
door is artists can "paint" a flat picture of the door with logos and =
color, and even door handles and such, but it's just a flat picture. But =
with bump mapping you can draw the door color, the logos, and such, but =
when it comes to the door handle you can have a 3-D rendering of the =
handle so it actually sticks out a bit, but no extra polygons are =
needed, am I close?

I'm not sure about the feature myself, but when it was mentioned once,
someone said to check the snow on the Hoth level of Rogue Leader. That's
all I got.

How could this NOT answer your question? Who cares if it was made in
1998, I'm pretty sure that the term "Bump Mapping" hasn't changed since
then.
