I think one new
thing to this game, is that it has bosses or something that most RTS don't

I found this add on for Winamp at this site which makes it possible to
download SNES music. NOT MIDIs. Music as if it was on the SNES. I've
downloaded Kirby Super Star, Star Fox, and Link to the Past, and I must say,
this is one of the greatest things of all time. If you like any SNES music
(you know you do), you must get this.

Stefan just heard this from one of the MS testers...apparently some of the
software on the demo discs was accidentally built with an old video library.
A conflict between the finished hardware and the old library will, under
certain conditions, manifest itself as the weirdness reported over the last
few days.
For anyone concerned, the final version of Halo uses a more recent library
which does not have this problem. I expect other Xbox titles do as well.
It's still an unfortunate gaffe, as it has generated so much bad publicity in
such a short time. But it's also nice to hear that it's an easily fixed
software thing, rather than a hardware issue as per internet
speculation/accusation. I suspect MS will update the demo discs on the
Xbox kiosks (which they were planning to do periodically anyway) with a
more recent build, and the people with axes to grind will have to complain
about something else.
==============================================
I hope these "old libraries" and other such problems get resolved before
launch....

AO is a great game, but I still prefer the Gamecube over Xbox. Hopefully
there will be some great 3rd party controllers for the Xbox because I really
can't stand Microsoft's own. However, it's almost guranteed that some time
in the future I will buy an Xbox. Probably in late 2002 or 2003. I'm still
trying my best to hold off on a PS2 purchase until spring of 2002.
Gamecube? November 18th, baby! Could AO be done on Gamecube? No Doubt.
Too bad Microsoft won't ever allow that to be.
