If you were a parent (if you aren't one already) and you wanted to buy a game for your son but don't know which one to pick simply because you don't know the good and bad N64 games, you would probably first choose a rated A (all) is that child is young. Secondly, you would want a game cover that looks cool and childish. Good examples are Mario Kart 64 or Yoshi's Story. There would probably be bought over games like Starfox, or Super Mario 64 (by the way, the SM64 cover looks like shit). Get what I'm saying. The only thing different I can think of is that on VHF Japan has a channel 1 and their channel 3 is like our channel 5 as far as different frequencies go, (or maybe our channel 5 is like their 3?) Something like that, but that really doesn't matter since every system these days uses A/V cables. Over the years I was very happy with the quality and quantity of games. When I got my N64, I was very happy and I still am but I think that the quality over quantity is really losing customers to the play station and in a year, ultimately the dreamcast. Ive had enough of saga and sony which is why I will never buy anything else other than a Nintendo system. I just wish they could get some more RPG's out like Zelda and if they can't, then I hope they concentrate on the 2000 system. I hope they use cd's but if they dont (again) then I hope they use something simialar to the disk drive's concept (only with higher density disks capable of holding MASSIVE ammounts of space) this will be possible i am sure by the year 2000. I really wonder what the future has to hold though. In 50 years there could be a virtual Zelda where you go into a hologramic tube and play from there. All in all, I think Nintendo has many great titles to come out for the N64 but I think that they should have a seperate team right now SERIOUSLY working on thier new system and they should have a much bigger database of games when starting.
