I can't see your feet 'cause they'r= e under your desks. OK, blink your eyes instead. Wow! That's a lot of blinks. Well quit your blinkin' ... you've got reading to do! Gearbox Software is busy putting together the first official add-on pack to Half-Life, so warm up your mouse hand and get ready to take on the aliens again. http://pc.ign.com/previews/11667.html MAGIC & MAYHEM Simple, fun and addictive, but not for the long haul. The designers over at Mythos have finally released an all-new strategy world for players to explore. While the mythical lands and real-time play are certainly a big change from the experience the team delivered with X-COM, gamers will immediately recognize some of the same design theories - deep story and addictive gameplay backed by a simple control scheme - that made Mythos a legend in the first place. http://pc.ign.com/reviews/11185.html EXPERT POOL So you don't have to be drunk to enjoy this game. Who knew? If you're like me, and god help you if you are, you only play pool at the bar. And you certainly don't go to the bar to play pool. Follow me? Sure, I buy into the whole pool image. I've seen The Hustler a couple of times. Once I even tried to sit through The Color of Money. Buh. Anyway, I like the idea of pool-I just suck at it. Having said all that (wrote, whatever), Expert Pool is extremely fun. I've played the beta and although I still suck I'm having a lot of fun. And all without the artificial aid of reckless inebriation. http://pc.ign.com/previews/10177.html ********************Advertisement******************** DREAMCAST A whole new level of entertainment awaits you with Sega Dreamcast. Excitebike 64 screen-shots are here. It seems like just the other day, we were pining away for a game that had all of the thrills and simple pleasures found in the original Excitebike for the NES. The wonderful surprise news that Excitebike 64 is coming to our favorite home console system made for a happy E3 experience. We took a quick look at the game and we were impressed even more with the speed and smoothed-out look of the game. http://ign64.ign.com/previews/11838.html COMMAND & CONQUER 3D We've got a few new screen-shots of Command & Conquer 3D in super-sized form. Have a look. Command & Conquer 3D may not be the real time strategy savior for the N64 like it was originally intended. While it's not as tough to look at as StarCraft 64, C&C has it's own visual problems to deal with. Let's put it this way: while the marines in StarCraft have about 20-30 jumbled pixels, the ground troops in C&C may not even break double digits. http://ign64.ign.com/previews/1947.html IN-FISHERMAN BASS HUNTER 64 Aspiring fishermen rejoice! After visiting the Sony booth at E3 in mid-May, not only was the small team at IGNPSX excited about the giant computer maker's fall lineup, but one game looked exceptionally good. Starring our favorite wily, spinning, mammalian pig-dog, Crash Team Racing snagged our attention for some quality game-playing time. Crash Bandicoot has followed the way of another famous mascot, and now stars in what has become a formulaic must-have for any system, a Kart racing game. Due this fall, Crash Team Racing is sure to become the ultimate party game on the PlayStation. http://psx.ign.com/previews/11595.html BANDAI UNLEASHES SURPRIZE GAMES Finally -- Macross VFX2 gets a date. The company hasn't exactly been known for its participation in the US PlayStation market, but all that is about to change. We received a package directly from Bandai with four of the company's titles for release starting this September, and we just had to tell you all about them. http://psx.ign.com/news/8252.html SABOTEUR A man's best friend was never quite as valuable as this. After seeing and playing the one-person PlayStation game (it was cancelled on the PC), the rich, complex gameplay and interesting group of features sets Saboteur in a place all its own. (no joke) From Videogames.com Sega to Develop for Nintendo The Nihon Keizai Shinbun on Wednesday reported that Sega Enterprises has officially announced that it will be developing and publishing game software for the Game Boy Color, Wonderswan, and Neo Geo Pocket. This is the first time Sega has ever developed for a Nintendo platform. Sega stated that it hopes to increase its market share by developing for the Game Boy Color. The first Sega game coming to the Game Boy Color platform will be Sakura Wars. Sega and Nintendo are currently in negotiations to release the game within 1999. Although it may seem as though Sega is making the transition from hardware producer to strictly a producer of software, the company stressed that it has no plans of developing or publishing for the PlayStation or the Nintendo 64. The choice to produce games for Nintendo's GBC stems from Sega currently not having a competing handheld unit. Sega has stated plans to release other classic games for the Game Boy Color after Sakura Wars is released. By Yukiyoshi Ike Sato, videogames.com (Another one of my prophecies has come true. Actually, Pikachu is probably my fave -- the little critter's throw works great, there's plenty of projectile and head-to-head hits, and the thing is downright quick. Defense is lacking but when you play offensive you can make quite an impact. Similarly, Kirby is also alright, but he's much too slow and is recovery time is a wee too slow for my tastes. I think I know that it has been anounced years ago, was supposed to be released as a first title for the DD then it got moved to cart. It was originally supposed to come out on June 1997, then it was delayed. Little screen shots have been shown over the two year period already. The lead designer Itoi has left the project a few months back and now it is in a questionable state. It has been moved back over 5 times and now has a spring 2000 release around the same time of Dolphin. Earthbound 64 aka Mother 3 is currently number 5 of the top wanted games in Japan Ranking well above Ogre Battle, and Pocket Monsters to name a few. Mother 3 will be the last game that HAL works on for the N64 and hopefully they give it their all. EB64 was not shown at E3 and you have no idea how many people are now P!ssed off. If you think that no one cares about the game then go to: http://earthbound.net and you will see that this main site along with about 30 other well maintained sites are just nuts over the game. In conclusion, yes I know about Earthbound 64 and I am well aware of its status which is slowly dwindling at this very moment IMHO. Eddy Wu wrote: > > Hey Dfentie, I got some news for you..
