From: "Montgomery, Jonathon G" Subject: [nuts-list] 1999 NUI Demographic Survey - Great Prizes! Date: 06 Jul 1999 09:41:00 -0700 Dear NUTS Group Member: NUI is conducting there annual demographic survey to collect information about all our NUI groups. To make it easier this year the survey has been posted on the web at: http://www.quesse.com/99mbr.html The information will be gathered into a database by group name and location. It is very important that we receive as much information back as possible in order to keep the momentum from Novell in regards to adding more services and benefits for each of the NUI groups next year. It is also a great way to prove what a force the NUI groups and members are in Novell's past and future success. As you go out to the site you will also notice that we will be doing drawings for your individual members who fill out the survey, We will be giving away 5 BrainShare 2000 passes, and 10 copies of NetWare for Small business (5 user version) We will also be giving out a lot of Novell and NUI logo merchandise. The group who gets the most total members to fill out the survey by July 19 will get a digital camera. Please take a moment and respond to the survey: http://www.quesse.com/99mbr.html The proposed future meeting schedule is now on the web site. We are extending this invitation out to our membership. Please let me know ASAP if you would like to be involved. I need to get a list of names in for registration. Thanks, Jonathon Montgomery, President NetWare Users Technical Symposium (NUTS) The proposed future meeting schedule is now on the web site. "Conference Volunteers Needed" Novell is offering our NUI groups a table to market their membership. They will also provide two free passes for both days of their show. The tabletop will need to be staffed by two volunteers who will receive the passes. The volunteer responsibilities would include: a) Provide materials to put on tabletop, i.e., membership applications, group meeting schedule, upcoming event information, calendars, as well as anything else you feel would be helpful in marketing the groups in your area. b) Set-up tabletop display (placing materials on table, hanging NUI banner, etc.) Volunteers will need to arrive early enough on Day One of the conference to have the membership table ready before attendees arrive at 7:30 a.m. c) Staff the NUI Membership tabletop from 7:15 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., both days of the conference. NUI will ship brochures, credit card applications, and a banner (if needed) for the tabletop display. We will include t-shirts for the volunteers, as well as a few extra to each show so that the group can hold a drawing. The volunteers can bring a fish bowl (or some type of container) for attendees to drop in their business cards for a chance to win a t-shirt. This will allow the group to contact attendees after the conference to see if they'd be interested in joining. Volunteers will have the opportunity to attend some of the TechShare classes, (go to www.novell.com/techshare to view all conference information) as time allows. Due to limited seating, the "hands-on" training, on Day One and Day Two, will not be offered to volunteers. It is important that the booth is staffed by two people during registration, breaks and lunchtime. We would like to have one volunteer at the booth at all times, if possible. If the volunteers would like to take turns attending classes, that would be fine. Lunch will be provided, free of charge, both days of the conference. Since time is short, please contact members in your area, right away, and provide us with names of volunteers, (as well as e-mail addresses for contact purposes) so that name badges can be printed. Please send these names to Carrie Bolda (and "cc" Sandy Osburn and Brent Sharp). I realize that for some of you, the conferences are not conveniently located. I will need each President to let me know, as soon as possible, if you will or will not be able to provide volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity to increase your membership by reaching a targeted audience! We hope you will take advantage of this offering from Novell/TechShare and "enjoy the show!"
