I think it would be great as the Orb shows have sooo much atmosphere and it would allow Orb to do some really experimental stuff that maybe wouldn't go on an album? They could even do a Orb Live collection similar to Orbital's Satan Live singles. It could bring new people into the Orb who would maybe not be fond of the singles but love the really bizarre stuff, people are willing to take a chance on a single where they wouldn't on the price of an album. However the bass line is >not as >prevailing in this mix Length: 9:37 Hey, are these mixes on the "High-Tech-No-Crime" remix album? I never got that...pretty good, is it? The lineup looked pretty good as I remember. Anyway, there are three other mixes on the "YMO vs. Orb: Tong Poo Remixes" EP: Green Herbage Mix (9:43, according to my disc player) Planet of the Crossing Mix (10:00) House of Bright Colours Mix (10:06) I have to put these on again to remember just what goes on with them. They're all rather similar, with lots of dub delay effects on things, the usual Orb grab-bag of samples (speech & other stuff), a deep and seemingly bass-guitar-derived bassline, and reverb-drenched drums that sound like sound more like a drumkit than a 909. There's this "oooohhing," baying vocal motif that crops up here and there as the prominent "melody" in each of the mixes. Pretty nice stuff, but I actually like the "Technodon Remixes II" EP more, probably 'cos there's more variety.... Hope this helps.
