But I mean setting the drum machine on play like that, and the hand drum samples which are prevalent in this stolen(?) mix are ORB all the way through. Did you give the sample a listen by any chance? A mate of mine has just been sent a copy of Hawkwind - Silver Machine - infected by The Scourge of the Earth, thru the post. He believes this to be the work of Jimmy Cauty in some way. Though the press release is so garbled it is not clear. He also says that it is shite too, and is sending me it as he no longer desires to keep such an item. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 17:06:46 +0100 From: RFitzgerald@vision-consulting.com Subject: (orb) Bye bye Guys, its been great - but I have to go now! Also look out for the Roedelius remix by The Orb that spans around 25 min or so - out on Rykodisk. - -- Paul Rigby # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 00:01:17 +0200 From: Marcus Endberg Subject: (orb) I thought ... I know The Orb ... but Hello first! this week my job took me to Nuernberg (Germany), to install some computers for a fair. Luckily I had some spare time that I used to visit some record stores where I've found some stuff from orbital, a lot of Aphex Twin *A*N*D* Anthology 2 (not heard it yet) and also John Peel Sessions. Well, I thought to know what kind of music The Orb are into, that I could recognize even every new song as being their work without anybody telling me that it's actually an Orb track. But I've just heard "No Fun" (from the Peel Sessions) and was absolutelly astonished - not to compare with anything from The Orb I know so far ... So, The Orb really surprised me once more - and that's why I love them! btw, on my way back home I had to look at a road map ... discovered that there's a city in Bavaria that's named "Bad Orb" - weird, eh? ;-) lp&h -Marcus - -- http://NUeB.home.pages.de mailto:nueb@pader-online.de voice: +49-172-9791763 # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jun 1999 18:27:27 -0400 From: chicken Subject: (orb) R&S Classics greetings orbers i picked up the following CD the other day and thought i would share the info: R&S Classics r&s 01 CD: SRCS 7921 Stereo JASRAC 1996 Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) track 12. sun electric: o'locco (orbital therapy part 4) 4:02 this compilation features r&s artists with tracks from 1990-1994 the artwork is uncredited (i can't read japanese), but it sure looks like the dynamo designer's republic as far as i know, this is the only time this particuliar track has been released on cd still searching for parts 5-8 chicken now playing: Patsy Cline: back in baby's arms (as long as a baby's arm mix) just kidding about the mix name, i just like making up orb remix names # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 00:22:38 +0200 From: scott brightwell Subject: (orb) Hello Hello My name is scott or pokey. (and no one's forced into revealing anything about themselves they don't want to) i've designed a prototype of my own bio here: http://www.voidwhereprohibited.com/biotest.jpg i'll probably shrink it to 600 by 420 and add some DHTML animation for the final product. the loquatious steve has volunteered his alliterative copywriting skills when it comes to text... so, if everyone likes the idea, all we'd have to do is: 1) decide on the common, orb-related questions everyone should answer 2) send your photo and bio info to the kidz who are willin to help (sound simple? it is!) i'd be happy to make trading cards for anyone in need, beginning in July. alternately, there will be virtual rock-throwing later for those who think this is a sucky idea. =) just some food for thought.... =) rach # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 21:54:55 +0100 From: Smiley Subject: (orb) i'm out of here.....for a while... evening all, i'm going out of the country for a couple of weeks, so: i. that's why i won't be replying to emails ii. those who have sent me money for records, which has yet to arrive, it should turn up by the time i'm back - i'll let you know. iii. those who owe me money but HAVEN'T sent it yet - please make sure that it gets to me by the time i'm back, as i've been waiting a LONG TIME. back july 5th. cheers. - --- Smiley MASSIVE spares list at: http://come.to/SmileyWeb # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 12:23:00 +0200 From: "Michael" Subject: (orb) Cydonia Hi ORBsters, tonight I watched a NASA-documentation about the planet Mars on the telly. Hope they will use the "face" as artwork for the new album.
