He said he would play one of the tunes, and as luck would have it he played the Orb remix. It was a track by Keith Hudson, didn't get the name of the track. But the LP is called 'Select cuts from Blood and Fire' on the Select Cuts Label. What a track! If you had imagined how an orb remix of a dub track should sound then this was it - really good stuff. A lot of the original dub feel was there but also some crazy orb electronics on top. Really really good. Anyone have any more info on this? The song (featuring Horace Andy in/out of the mix) is from Keith Hudson's Pick a Dub from 1975, one of the hardest and rawest dub albums ever, check it out, it's a classic. I'm selling lots of it to icelandic orbsters in my cd shop. I'm Allright is actually my favourite track from the album and - coincidence - I just played it on my radio show a few weeks ago. The album should be released mid-august according to http://www.bloodandfire.co.uk/ It's also mentioned that "...The Orb weigh in with a totally deconstructed version of Horace Andy's 'I'm Alright' from the 'Pick A Dub' album..." wow this must be something... The first ten minutes or so are sort of crappy in my opinion but after he moves on from AHEGPGB he catches a nice groove that changes quite a bit with some jungle and old school hip-hop mixed in the set. If you want to listen to it and skip the two mediocre dj's who precede him, fast forward 2 hours and 42 minutes into the show. oh and the betalounge keeps all of its older shows up on the past shows archive. (which in my opinion has a ton of incredible sets) I think that they just constantly stream shows for about a week after they are recorded. But his set isn't going to disapear as long as their site is up. http://www.betalounge.com/ merrick ________________________________________________________________ The main thing to understand is that we are imprisoned in some kind of work of art. - Terence McKenna - ---------------------------------------------------------------- phone address (312)492-7461 800 S.
