I won't ever believe another release date ever > again nor any online store that says it will deliver but really won't. ===>Ok, I think I can explain what's going on with online stores taking pre-orders on items that aren't coming out when they're being released, based on my experiences working at a record store for a number of years: Record stores, both physical and online, receive release dates for albums from (I'm assuming) the record companies. If a record company then changes the date, the record store itself should not be blamed for not having updated information. Same thing with deleted titles. I'll never forget the day this jackass who graduated the year after me came into the store swearing and hollering--literally--saying shit like, "you fuckers don't know your goddam asses from a hole in the ground" when his order of some stupid cd like Bozz Scaggs Greatest Hits (or something like that) turned out to be deleted (i.e., no longer available). Sure, our computers showed it was still available, but this dickhead couldn't understand that there is a DELAY between the time that a record company makes a decision, and when the record stores are notified. We of course gave him a refund on his payment without any fuss. Now if a store (online or otherwise) would not give a refund, THEN I would have a big problem with that.... Sorry--I'm not calling ANYONE on this list a dickhead or anything, just that goof who came in our store. Guy was mentally unstable anyway. Everyone on this list is cool, as far as I'm concerned. :-) By-the-way (to Flory), welcome to the list! :-) Also, there *are* copies of version 1 of Cydonia floating around. I don't have a cd burner; otherwise, I'd help ya out.... :-( Vince # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Sep 2000 12:53:33 EDT From: Josephhannah1@aol.com Subject: (orb) Don't Panic!! If I recall correctly, these appeared on the /Space Out/ tribute compilation put together by some Xmission folks. Those two cuts were produced by Steve Reese, who apparently did his own cassette release as well, but your best bet to hear them is to track down a copy of /Space Out/. I had a track on the comp as well (a remix of "Saturn"), and last I heard the executive producer was going to get it remastered on CD, but I haven't heard anything for some time now ... ! - -=Seofon _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. They have a new album, which is described as the following on their record company's site: Imagine a cross between classic ORB, the beautiful ONE DOVE, a hint of Dub Reggae and haunting vocals by Becky Kaye and Sally Strawberry! SURGE`s Debut Album "Wreckage" is either a Chill Out Paradise or the new road to "Spook Pop"....one of these truly inspired Albums which will get stuck in your CD Player forever All I can say is that if their album, Wreckage, is even half as beautiful as the Drum & Bass mix of their single "Cold Air" I got on the promo copy of Millennium Record's Externally Alive Vol. 4, this album is going to be very, very good.
