Being from Milwaukee, I make it down to Chicago pretty often and know the scene down there well enough, but I've never been to Detroit, so any recommendations for record shops, restaurants, after-show parties etc. will be appreciated. Also, somewhat more urgently, has anyone found out anything concrete about the supposed Mad Professor date in Chicago on Sunday night? If it's happening, it'd be a wonderful bridge between the two Orb shows, but all I can find online has "TBA" listed for the Chicago date and none of the Chicago press (well, the Reader, at least) has any info about the show. I'm afraid I don't know what my wardrobe will be at the Orb shows, but I have a shaved head and glasses and I'm tall and on the thin side. Depending on the weather, I may be wearing an oversized forest-green Ninja Tune hoodie with the big Ninja eyes on the back. Possibly also a grey Herbaliser sweatshirt with their name on the front and an old-fashioned-looking handgun on the lower back. Enough about fashion. I've been enjoying the reports from the shows to date, and am super excited about seeing these two. Last time I saw the Orb (with Sun Electric at the Metro in Chicago), it was the best live concert of the hundreds I've seen. Finally I decided to join this mailing list - a friend helped here. I've been on the KLF mailing list for quite some time and joining this list as well seems pretty logical, since KLF and Orb share quite some things... both are great bands, I can't think of many that could be even remotely compared to them. I've been a KLF fan for a long time, but a while ago a friend of mine (Pego from Italy) introduced me to FSOL, Aphex Twin, Orb and the like... Of course, I was hooked immediately. I loved KLF's excursions into ambient ('Space' and 'Chill Out'), so I learned to love Orb really soon ;) In return, I showed my friend the beautiful world of KLF ;)) Oh, sorry, almost forgot the basic info - I'm 21 years old, a student, from Slovenia. Music is a very important part of my life, I own a lot of cds and vinyls and I was never sorry for spending all that money on music. What is the "satisfy me" song on there? Alex also played it at the end of the Autolump set in NYC and I'd like to know what it is and if possible, to find it. I mean, it sounds like Elvis, but possibly remixed....any help here would be appreciated. Anyone know why OAA is refusing connections? I've also trying two other sites, which are timing out (I think one may be the Chain Reaction site). I visited all of them less than three weeks ago and got some great stuff. My hard drive croaked last week and it's all gone. I'd love to be able to get some of those shows again. Any help would be appreciated! Also - Has anyone tried to split any of the Groovetech shows into tracks? I used TrackMaker (freeware), but the tracks created were not the correct size.
