I always assumed it meant any rhythm that wasn't regular *boom tap boom tap*, but is there anything more to it? Does it involve shuffled-up samples, different times, whatever? Thank you for handling my naivete, techno peoples :) - KEL PS: The reason I remembered this is beacuse I listening to the new Breakbeat Era album... good stuff :) And if this starts another breakbeat/bigbeat war, let me say I had nothing to do with it. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orbital" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orbital@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 19:54:50 -0400 From: Kel Subject: Re: (orbital) belfunk wrote: > Where can you buy this EP? (online) I'd say any good site that does British imports. Off the top of my head... www.ab-cd.com, www.gemm.com, www.yalplay.com, and maybe www.imvs.co.uk. Yalplay and IMVS are both british so you'd need a credit card, but it'd probably be a bit cheaper in the end. Or if you have a good dance record store near you they might have it on vinyl or CD. My place of patronage, 611 Records, still has about five copies on vinyl sitting around so it must still be in distribution. Good luck :) - KEL # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orbital" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orbital@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 17:54:58 -0700 From: "." We are trying to give our employees more SHIT than anyone else. If you feel that you do not receive your share of SHIT on the job, please see your manager. You will be immediately placed at the top of the SHIT list, and our managers are especially skilled at seeing that you get all the SHIT you can handle. Employees who do not take their SHIT will be placed in Departmental Employee Evaluation Programs (DEEP SHIT). Those who fail to take DEEP SHIT seriously will have to go to Employee Attitude Training (EAT SHIT). Since your managers took SHIT before they were promoted, they do not have to do SHIT anymore, because they are full of SHIT already. If you are full of SHIT, you may be interested in a job training others. We can add your name to our Basic Understanding Lecture List (BULL SHIT). Those who are full of BULL SHIT will get SHIT jobs, and can apply for promotion to Director of Intensity Programming (DIP SHIT). If you have any questions, please direct them to our Head Of Training Special High Intensity Training (HOT SHIT).
