In order to keep this directly Orbital related, I realized that I never mentioned my complete turnaround about my opinion of Middle of Nowhere. What I first took to be noisy, under thought-out, without a soul, and just not up to Orbital standards, turned out to be a high-quality number (I did realize this several months ago). I found that I liked it much better while listening in my car. I believe this is due to the limited frequency capabilities of my car stereo--which makes it sound more similar to the mid-range sound heard in the previous records. I think it just took me awhile to get used to the new synths they were using: Z1, JP-8000, etc. The new sounds just weren't fitting my "range" of Orbital sound. Now I'm used to it, and find the Orbital spark in every track. I know Paul mentioned something about the next record being experimental (in an old interview) so maybe they'll turn back to their older gear. I was actually surprised that they used such mainstream big-selling keyboards (but maybe they weren't so popular at the time). As you can see, I don't discourage discussion that directly relates to Orbitals gear... Also. I won a contest sponsored by Virgin Atlantic and the Austin Powers movie. I'm going to London for free, baby! I'll be going in January from the 18th to the 25th. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations from those knowledgeable of the area.
