It was some sort of substitute for not being able to be at Cream!.. <:-) DeeKay # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orbital" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orbital@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Jan 2000 12:01:05 GMT From: "Steven Carver" Subject: Re: (orbital) Programs & homemade music >I'd just like to add at this point in time if you're >considering composing/writing and are new to the game >its NOT an absolute necessity to have the "real" >instruments. between the mac and pc audio software >wise in the "virtual" domain, high quality work can be done >and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.. > >thank you > >Jim J. You're right, of course. But the trouble with doing everything "virtually" is that eventually it gets really tedious doing everything inside the computer. You don't need "real" instruments or a mixing desk or anything, but it's a lot more fun! You can spend hours coming up with weird analogue effects and twiddling knobs on "physical" machines; on the computer everything so sodding pristine... it can get really boring. Just thought I'd tell you. I am looking for the font used on the cover of the Orgy "Candyass" CD. This font looks a bit like Arcade, but the "d" and the "y" have a distinct look. I have seen this font used on many Orgy websites, I just don't know the name of it. If you can help me out with the name, or the font itself, please e-mail me privately. I just wanted to reassure others who didnt want to have a bunch of outboard stuff that its cool too... I think I mentioned this one already, but it really is an amazing album--If you're looking for something in the beautiful, mellow style of BoC, check out Solvent's Solvently One Listens, on Suction records. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's purple. Not the Neue Black purple, but a richer violet hue.
