How are you? This is actually an extension of some = e-mails and=20 comments by Mike, Meredith and others concerning last week's = "Sexual=20 Healing" episode. Meredith made a really good point about = connections and=20 visions being different. Connections, up until "Sexual = Healing" had=20 only been between Max and Liz. Most notably, the infamous Pilot = connection=20 scene, the "Blind Date" kiss connection and all of the = connections=20 during "Sexual Healing." During these, visions were = transferred=20 between Max and Liz of memories, or in other words, of events that = actually=20 occured. My first question is, have Max's powers grown substantially = since the=20 pilot? He explicitly told Liz in the pilot that he "couldn't read=20 minds" but then in "Sexual Healing" he was able to tap = into a=20 fantasy, not a corporeal event, within Liz. At first I thought that this = was the=20 natural progression of the inherent "bond" between Liz and Max = but=20 then Michael was able to conjure up a memory from Maria. Up until = "Sexual=20 Healling" Michael had never (at least it was never mentioned) been = able to=20 do that with Maria during any of their previous kissing sessions. Will = he then,=20 and eventually Isabel, be able to connect not only to memories, but = thoughts,=20 fantasies, et al? Also, will they be able to do it with anyone? I always = felt,=20 and perhaps it was the romantic in me, that Max and Liz could do this=20 "connection" thing because they're soulmates and want to be = one, but=20 perhaps it is just one of those special powers that they can do with = anyone.=20 Also kissing seems to be fueling these "connections" as of = late (what=20 a perk) but in the pilot, all Max had to do was touch Liz's stomach and = look=20 into her eyes. What exactly then is needed to make these insights occur? = Is it=20 the physical connection between the two people involved or the emotional = connection?

Mike, and many other listees believe that the Nasedo = had=20 something to do with Max and Liz's undeniable attraction during = "Sexual=20 Healing" but I still don't completely buy that theory. I'm not = wholly=20 convinced that it wasn't just good old fashioned lust. I guess my = biggest=20 problem is why would Nasedo get Liz involved if in fact the main goal = was to get=20 Max to the object they found in the desert? Why take such a circuitous = route?=20 Why not just give Max the visions? For that matter, why not give the = visions to=20 Michael or Isabel? I highly doubt that Nasedo was just trying to be a = nice guy=20 and give Max a chance to seduce Liz for fun. Yes, the visions = mysteriously=20 disappeared after the object was found but perhaps that was because they = had=20 found what they had been looking for and not because Nasedo had=20 "finished" with them. I'm not sure if I'm being really clear = here but=20 I just find it odd that Liz would be used as an empath by Nasedo for any = reason.=20 And also, what power would that be? The power to get two people to be so = turned=20 on by each other that they have to touch each other and get visions? I = know=20 Nasedo can shape shift but you have to admit, this would be a really = esoteric=20 power!(albeit, an enjoyable one :-) )
