Dido is becoming more popular all the time! I have always loved the Roswell theme song. I have had two unexpected hearing of "Here with me." The first occured a couple weeks ago. I was in a tack shop (place you buy stuff for horses) in New Hampshire, and on the radio what do I hear - but Dido's "Here with me." I was shocked and totally excited that it was being played on the radio. I am a die hard Roswell fan so it just made my day! Unfortunately, I have no idea what radio station was playing but I liked the other songs that were on that channel. My second sighting happened yesterday when I was watching a tape of my soap, As The World Turns. One of the characters turned on the new Dido CD, and said they really liked the song "Here with me," and the other said they had never heard of her, but that it was nice. They played another song by her later on. Pretty cool, I'm glad shes getting some publicity. I tend not to watch television that much during the summer. Mostly due to the reruns which I have already seen. Shows like The X-Files, Roswell, BtVS, Angel, though this is the first "summer" for Roswell and Angel, lose me during the summer because, these shows are series and not like Law & Order, where one episode may have nothing to do with the next or last. I do tune in when there is an episode I prefer to see again. I "recruit" new viewers during the summer months, especially those who may have watched an episode or two during the regular season. I do make a point of taping the season finale of the past season, watching it right before the first show of the new season aires. To all you new viewers, keep watching. To all the veterans, go have some fun, not implying that watching reruns are not fun :) jtv - ----------------------------------------------- FREE! Subject: [roswell] Alex's Musical Instrument: Setting the Record Label Straight Well, everyone knows how much I just *luv* to post and think I'm all right and stuff, but I'm not the only one. I have my best friend Emily that I've shown the greatness of Roswell to- and it has been good. She would like to rant a little about Alex and his "misinterpreted" idea about his *bass*. Here she is: Okay, I know this is all, like, petty and crap, but everywhere I see people referring to Alex playing his guitar: in fan-fiction, in re-caps of episodes, all over the internet. The only problem with this is that Alex doesn't play the guitar; he plays the bass. Watch "Blood Brother" and "Blind Date" again; he's sitting there playing a bass, not a guitar. There are two other guys in "The Whits" who play the guitar, one on rhythm and the other on lead (I can't remember their names), and Maria even looks at Alex and says something about turning down the reverb on the bass. So, in conclusion, Alex plays the bass, not the guitar. Thank you. I'll get off my soapbox now. ~Emily ===== - -Ryan (who else?) "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat, "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here." ...Lewis Carroll __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Again, all this information is listed on the fanforum Roswell2 board for anyone's perusal, but a number of people don't have much time to check out the board these days.... The Silver Handprints and Orbs are still going to happen, and webpages are being constructed to explain the details regarding those 'waves.' However, at this time, nobody is supposed to send a handprint anywhere. WB has heard the fans--hey, we got the 13 didn't we?--but sending anything to their offices right now might actually annoy them. So instead of mailing to those offices, the initial campaign is a sponsor blitz. Two or three times each week, three new sponsors will be listed on the fanforum board. Every fan is asked to email/submit a feedback form thanking the sponsor for their support of Roswell. I will try and post the new sponsor information as I see it. This weekend kicks off the sponsor blitz with these three: Cotton Inc at http://www.cottoninc.com/Feedback/homepage.cfm?PAGE=69 KSwiss Trainers at ace@kswiss.com Victoria's Secret at http://www.victoriassecret.com/vsc/html/custsrvc/getintouch/index.html Clicking on the comments and suggestions link will get you the form. Chantel ********************************************* Roswell: We Believe - Campaign Update Plans for the campaign are well underway, and we will be ready to start the first phases by this weekend. This will involve campaigning to press and media sites, sponsors, and recruiting new viewers. We have a lot planned up until the Season 2 Premiere, and during the season. Come on over to the Roswell 2 message board for more info! Important Update: We have been advised that some groups are already starting to send handprints and other items to the WB. Please do not send anything to the network yet! We have "insider information" from someone associated with the show that everyone there is supportive of us campaigning for publicity and viewership right now, but that sending anything to the WB at this point could prove to be harmful to our cause. It's really great to see all the enthusiasm and effort that has gone into this campaign so far, and it is already evident that we are going to make a huge impact on keeping Roswell on the air for a long time to come. We need to focus and unite our efforts to impacting the media, sponsors and new viewers - and gear up for the mailings to come once the season starts. Announcement for Snail-Mail campaign O.K. Ready, everyone?! The first phase of the silver handprint campaign involves mailing handprints to specified press/media. We are starting NOW with Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide. Before the season starts, the focus is recruiting new viewers, flooding the press and media with requests to that they do cover articles on Roswell (or thanking them if they already have), and then hitting the sponsors with supportive messages. Snail mail versions request we send the silver handprints. The network won't 'hear' from us until after the season starts, and I think that's going to involve more handprints and the orbs too. Essentially, you can go to any craft store such as Hobby Lobby, and buy an oval shaped wooden object, along with some spray paint. Some people layer several different colors of paint together, but I think a basic silver would do just fine. Spray paint your 'easter egg' and then take a darker color of paint (black I guess) and trace the alien symbol on it. Now you can get really creative and use an Easter egg that opens up. Spray paint that, and put some kind of wacky message inside the egg, maybe a We Believe note or something. However, I'm going to have a hard enough time explaining oval orbs to kith and kin, so I'll be avoiding the jack-in-the-box approach... Better instructions exist on the NORoswellCancellation egroup. I will be offline from the 11th-20th, so there will be a break in my updates. But the Crashdown and Roswell2 will always have the latest. Chantel ************************* One of the most important parts-if not the most important-of the silver handprint campaign is writing to the sponsers of roswell. These companies help pay for the very expensive show, and without their support, we probably wouldn't have a show. Please take the time to email a quick thank you note to the following companies to let them know you appreciate them sponsering roswell. MAYBELLINE (Go to the URL and click on "FEEDBACK" to bring up a submit form) VOLKSWAGEN CREST (Click on the contact us and a button reading "email contact form" should appear below it.) This will bring up the submit form for you) AND REMEMBER TO POST ON THE SPONSER CAMPAIGN THREADS ON ROSWELL 2 AFTER YOU SEND OFF YOUR EMAILS! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I just started going through my mail so I don't know if anyone else on this list has posted anything, but I'd be happy to share my spoilers and stories. :) I had a blast-very possibly the best weekend of my life. - -Kris - ---------------------------------------------------------------- Visit http://www.xmission.com/~btvs/roswell/ for help and info. - ---------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Aug 2000 10:02:04 -0700 (PDT) From: Chantel Reynolds Subject: Re: [roswell] Hey all I'm a spoiler fanatic, so post away.
