I know what that feels like. I'm just not myself until the morning cup of tea! Thanks for letting me know the card made it. Did you notice that I also stamped the image on the envelope but didn't color it in. I debated for a long time about coloring in the image because it looked so great plain! :) With the stippling it looked so realistic that I almost left it just as is but then decided to color it with pencils and add more depth. I stamped the envy so you could see the difference (sort of a before and after). :) Kathy ------------------------------ From: Sandy Lemons Date: Thu, 30 Jan 1997 12:25:27 -0600 Subject: Re: tax story At 12:37 PM 1/30/97 EST, Ginny Newman wrote: >This story illustrates one of the very big reasons why I was supporting >the flat tax structure. I do not know how they are goint to be able to accurately tell who should have what refund. For example, for several days, I could not log on at all. Then one day I got on and stayed on for serveral hours. Does that mean I got my full value out of the service? I don't think so. After 5 weeks of limited connections, we switched to the "bring your own internet" plan. Now I can always connect, first time, but that doesn't compensate me for the access problems previously. I saw this message and thought how great! You see I too am somewhat of a newbie who loves to stamp and the idea of becoming better at it. Over the last year I have purschased about $3500 worth of stamps and accessories (if not more) and because of lack of creative artist talent they just sit. I did stamp my baby shower invites this last November (I had a beautiful baby girl Jordyn Camille 12/3/96). And what a project it was 150 invites - whew! - - but I managed. So know I want to use all the stuff I have because I guess you would say I am a compulsive buyer, have to have everything in every color, because you never know what you might need mentality (I need help, I know). The only glitch to me wanting to do this is time, with a new (demanding) baby, 10yr old son, a spoiled husband and other projects of interest going I don't get to things as quickly as I would like. But any help, stamping mentors, great resources or projects would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Patrice Hoskins Typin' Ink. ------------------------------ From: "Deborah K. This goes under the category of "how do you eat Oreos" - in this case, M&Ms. I like to hold them until the chocolate is warm, but this is taking too long... So I put a saucerful in the microwave (not too long, or it might explode or burn!) and nuked 'em for about 25-30 seconds. And the chocolate was warm and melty, and the candy crisp - mmmmmm... I think the Diva said it best - "candy-coated hot chocolate!" ("ooh la-la!") Thanks for all the advice about cash for catalogs and don't worry, I had a bagel, cheese, and milk for lunch! A castle stamped on glossy card stock with clouds stamped on it (I think they're stamped) The castle is all glittery. There are lots of little bushy trees around it that Cindy has made 3-d. But she made them look so real! They are kinda curved. I don't know how she made them look this way! The castle is on a hill and she also made the bridge going up to it 3-d. I just keep looking at this card...it is really pretty. The second card is from Laurie Morrison and it is very elegant looking. A castle stamped in gold on a rusty orange card stock. Laurie did two heart shaped holes in the edge and tied a ribbon thru it. Inside she put a really pretty yellow paper liner. I love this card and the castle stamp! Thanks also Laurie for the piece of orange paper you sent. This has been such fun. I hope y'all didn't mind me sharing these cards with you. becky-bear gardner@datastar.net ***************************** If the whole world followed you, followed you to the letter...
