I received the newbie round robin exchange cards (group #2) from Marcia Balonis yesterday... I took 2 and put in 2...I will not describe the other cards, but will try to describe the 2 that I took... 1) Made by Lori Stine...a 9 1/4" by 4" teal card (folded length-wise) with a layered piece of blue/green cardstock (embossed edges). Mounted on that are three embossed Denami fans on glossy cardstock and sponged? with pinks, blues, purples, and greens, mounted vertically. On the bottom fan, there is a tassle attached. She used egyption gold EP...Very pretty! 2) Made by Marie Lynd...A card (fold on top), sponged in lite pink, layered with a floral (small prints) wallpaper? with only right and left side cut with a fancy edger. She then stamped, embossed and colored in a Hero Arts floral heart design on cardstock, cut it out, then layered on pink mulberry paper that was torn right around the outside of the heart image, then layered on top of the wallpaper layer. very sweet looking! She used PSX tinsel gold ep. I know I can't describe them properly, so Lori and Marie, if I missed something or explained them wrong, please clarify... And Violetnut (Marcia), thanks for hosting! And thanks for the stickers! Lori, they will be mailed to you tomorrow! As most of you old timers know, I used to provide a digested version of this list. Unfortunately my ISP had some problems with majordomo & switched to smartlist, then had troubles with that so switched back to an upgraded Majordomo. The mailing list finally seems stable & since I still get requests for a digest version I have decided to start it up once again. I am currently testing it and so far the only problem I'm having is it seems to be generating digests anywhere from 19k to 28k in size. This makes the digest include about 15 - 25 messages. With the amount of mail this list generates that is more than 10 - 15 digests a day. Doesn't that seem a bit much? For those interested, what would a good size digest be? The digest will be ready for public use by the weekend & I'll post instructions to the list. Also to avoid getting slammed with e-mails here are some quick answers to possible questions: * A digest is simply an e-mail sent to you incorporating several posts to the list so that your amount of e-mail is less although it won't save much download time since the digest length is roughly equal to the combined posts. * When you hit reply to a digest, your message will automatically be addressed to the Genie rubberstampers list. * The digest will be running of my server & not Genie's server. * Once you subscribe to the digest you can unsubscribe from the regular list after getting a few satisfactory digests. * You DO NOT have to join the digest so if you don't like it don't complain, it's not hurting you. Don't put anything in the body because I won't read it. A reply will automatically be sent back to you with the list. Patience is a virtue. BWA HAHAHAHAHLAHAHAHAHAaaaa. My mother always told me that. Okay, seriously. Do remember that some players didn't receive their match until really late in the month. Some people had to drop out, some had to be rematched, if you haven't received your package yet.... YOU could have been one of those who had to get a new sender mid-month. And there's no way you would know that. Also remember not all of our players are in the US. Packages take a long time, especially if they're going through a remailers' hands. And if your sender got you mid month and is also not in the same country you are??? Yeah, we're talking a bit of a delay here. Those who are new to this swap don't realize, too, that we do follow up to see what's what with these. You know, for every package that got procrastinated in mailing past the end of the month, there is at least one package where the receiver has been "fixing to post about it" for weeks. Right now I think about half our database is missing acknowledgment for January. We'll not do that until after a week or so has gone by. But we do track things. So remember. Patience is a virtue. (And if you haven't mailed that January package yet, please do it NOW! Your SS is standing in the rain by her mailbox. And I think she needs to go to the bathroom.) ========================================================================= Janet Detter Margul | Real women don't have hot flashes... TTPO is Tickle (or torture) the Post Office. It has been the subject of some controversy on the list - flames and all. I almost dropped because I like to stay away from any of that but decided to go ahead and stick this one out. It has been fun for me. Anyway, the idea is to send unusual things through the mail without wrapping etc. Odd shapes as long as it isn't breakable or meltable they will take it. Keep reading and before too long will be a better description of what was received. Right now things are still being mailed to folks in your group and it is supposed to be a secret until things have all arrived. Mine included useful items, some are odd or funny items, it is all in fun.
