I figured I would get an early start planning his party. (Early starts for me are rare, but do happen occassionally) So, I've already planned to stamp the invites, gift bags, etc. Then I thought about the cake and figured I could probably use rubber stamps to decorate that too. Only I haven't quite decided how. I don't necessarily mean stamping directly on the cake (although I have considered using food coloring and a new stamp to try it). If any one has rubberstamped a cake topper; I would appreciate ideas, materials used and any other info. Those hotels are the closest, but not close enough to walk. Unless that is, you like walking along the freeway. There is lots of parking at the Expo Center, but it is expensive. I would suggest carpooling, or getting there early and taking advantage of what little street parking there is. There may be motels in the new Delta Park development, but I don't know their names. They would also be a bit far to walk from, and again, no sidewalks. I'll take a drive out there before the convention and get better information. I was so touched by the supportr of all of you during the Will's terrible no good very bad day (that lasted a week at least!) I DID read all that mail :) Very inspiring, I cried alot and laughed alot. Now for the story.... William is 3, a very busy 3. He has been busy since birth. He can open anything he shouldn't and makes it his personal goal to open things I am convinced he simply cannot. I have yet to find a way to keep him under control. Now he is not the wild child sort (usually) he is sweet, smiles and kisses without reservation but my oh my how the tides can change. The day in question was normal, he had opened the dishwasher, climbed aboard, used a stack of plates to stand on to reach the flamethrower (just kidding, it was bubble gum!)and scared me to pieces. That was when I decided not to pee until 5:30 when DH got home. Too many things can happen when a gal relieves herself! I had already learned to go to the bathroom in record sped and even zip up in the hallway, no time for niceties with Will in the house! So I was doing fine, until I had a can of soda. All bets were off, mom HAD to go to the potty. It was at the very last moment and I reluctantly went. With a big sigh of relief I came out of the BR knowing Will had used the opportunity to try something...and low and behold he had suceeded. I followed the sounds of glee and the shouts of "It's snowing..." to the (gulp) stamping area. He had succesfully maneuvered the child proof locks (hah!) and climbed 5 feet off the ground and was playing Jack Frost with 24 bottles (yeah, the whole set...) of Pearl Ex......he had opened every single jar and had made the ugliest muddy colored sparkly crap all over the floor, table, 2 loads of formerly clean laundry (my husband is now reffered to as "Disco Michael" at work because of this...) 2 really nice Kaleidacolor pads and a marvy pad. He was absolutely covered and when he saw me he smiledd (yes , it was on his teeth...)and said again "It's snowing" Well the rest is a lesson in Maternal Self control as I was really really mad. I don't spank as a rule and if I had decided to at this moment it would have been very ugly. There truly was no way to discipline him without taking revenge and many many disagree with my ways but I did what was safe and in control...I put him in the tub and sat down and cried. Not because of what he had destroyed but at the anger in me and the fear that there is noplace my son is safe from harm. All is well now I love my kiddos but man oh man can they be trying!~ Thanks again for all the support, I am sorry I could not get back to each of you personally but there were 150 really loving and funny and helpful posts to me....so please forgive me Hugs to you all and now go hug your kids and thank them for not being like William (even though I thank William for just being himself every single day! Ya know, El Nino really sucks!! We have had 3 days of rain and horrid wind. There is widespread flooding all over Northern CA, and parts of Southern CA also. Thankfully, we are about 5 miles from the nearest river, so we are in no danger of flooding...but my best friend's home is 1/2 mile from a river that is starting to spill over. Our freeways are all messed up...there is a stretch of the main hwy that is completely closed due to water.....and I need to go to town...booohoooo!!! So...anyone wanna come visit me???
