I was bummed and after I lit all the candles in my living room and noticed that it was bright enough for me to continue stamping, I was hoping that the electric would come back on before I had to emboss. Well it didn't so I sat there for a few minutes not knowing what to do. Then it hit me. "I can use my hurricane lamps to emboss I bet" I said to myself. (Can you tell I'm a writer LOL) Well I picked up my card and held it over the lamp and lo and behold it started to emboss. I was stoked. So now if your electric ever goes out you still can emboss. I've found that staying well back from the paper as I emboss has helped a lot--I used to like to get real close to watch the process and make ssure I'd embossed completely! Now I make a point of sitting up straight and holding what I'm embossing down near my waist, and turning off the heat gun for a moment if I have to take a closer look. I"ve noticed that some powders have different scents and are more "fume-y" than others, particularly my Judi-kins Opaque White, which is very plastic-y smelling. The ones that caused my eyes to burn the most tend to have glitter in them; it probably blows a bit as embossing starts. Just my data points on the topic... As far as vendors, have only ordered from a couple and received very good service. My favorite stamping technique is: Stamping as a background and then laminating an image to go on top. I really don't like these kinds/styles of stamps/stamping: haven't seen any that I don't like. Weird is a little bit over my head though. I first discovered rubber stamping: When I was in jr. high, but didn't start stamping until recently. Delete any of the following statements which are not true for you. Add any others I've forgotten which ARE true for you. Change the wording of any of these to make them more true for you. Keep each answer separated by a blank line for easier reading. I emboss my stamping sometimes. (I don't know how to emboss, don't even own a heat tool, but have one on the way) I like to make my own paper. (Haven't tried it yet, soon!) I like to buy mass quantities of unusual paper. I like to buy embossing powders and inks. (will be very soon) I love word sayings and text stamps. When people see my cards they say "Wow! That's beautiful!" When people see my cards they say "Whoa! How did you DO that??" I can find my own way to the stamp store. Most of the time. The other day I was fixing to "Clean the house" when I discovered "Background Stamping" and decided to change my plans. In fact, this discovery was so "exciting" I jumped in the "driver's seat" and headed for the stamp store. As I walked in the door, the owner said "No shoes, No Shirt, No Service!" Nonetheless, I went ahead and picked out "what I could get my hands on" and marched right up to the cash register, where I proceeded to "be in a frenzy". On the way home to my "abode", I stopped off at "Wally World" and did my usual "Oh I didn't see this yesterday, gotta have it" shpeel. Which only goes to prove "I'll always be able to find something to spend my husband's money on". Reflecting my life's philosophy of "Shop till you're broke!"
