Flossie, KayeLynne (and her hubby), Rachel, Linda I., Two Steppin Stamper (?) and many others. I know I'm forgetting names...sorry about that. I'm hoping to make this a regular yearly event so I'll eventually be able to remember everyone! I also met Evo and Dale and they are great! Glad to see "Mr. Evo" is doing so well. Evo had reserved a Deep, Dark and Delicious cardstock pkg for me and I just opened it tonight and I LOVE it! Beautiful cardstock! Also....want to say THANKS to Wendy and Don....Wendy for putting up with Lillie and I for so long digging in her rubber bin (loved that bin!)..LOL..and to Don for giving us a ride back to the hotel after the convention on Sun. We really appreciated it. I'm so glad that my new friend, Lillie, was able to make it! It was touch and go there for a while! LOL I had a great time and wish I would have actually bought more! Too bad some of the stamps I loved were only available mounted :( I'm too "frugal" (translation...cheap!) to spend too much on mounted stamps! Anyway...to everyone that I saw and talked to (and unfortunately am not remembering names), it was fun! I am out about $10.00 and I have no ink. Is their anything else I can do????? >> Is this person still selling on the list?? To me that would be the most important bit of information. You see, I've been ripped off by a list vendor too... but she's not here anymore. I ordered stamps from her and they never came (I paid for them and my check cleared)... she ordered paper from me, I sent it... but her check never came. I now only send out packages AFTER payments have been received with VERY few exceptions for regular customers. So you could say I was had coming and going... I of course looked at the stamps and it was so neat because i recognized many of the companies before if even read their name on the wood block!! (is this a sign of becoming a more "mature" stamper?) anyway, i looked but didn't buy any stamps today...i did get some new toys though!! i finally go an 1/8" hole punch, and i broke down and bought the rotary deckle blade for my cutter...i got some more zig glue pens and i got stamp cleaner. let's see, i think that's all i got, i know, kinda boring, but i had fun seeing all the stamps in "person/rubber". i hardly go to springfield let alone, go to hobby lobby but i thought since i was there, buying dalmation decorations, i may as well just "LOOK" around...my cousin was with me and we were in a big hurry to get to the mall too so after i got the birthday stuff, i took off racewaddling (i'm 6 months pregnant) and instantly came upon the stamp section...my cousin said "man, what did you do, smell the scent of the rubber?" anyway, it was so funny!! after the hobby lobby, we went to the mall and i was on a mission there too. to get more bath and body works sun-rippened raspberry lotions and soaps and to check out the victoria secret liquid talc. i did some damage there too. i wish they would make some lingere for pregnant women!! oh well, i enjoyed looking and dreaming of someday wearing that stuff again...till then, i can at least carry around a victoria secret bag and make people wonder...they don't know i only have perfume in there!! after the drive back home, i went to kroger to get some ice cream and some shortening for the cake and the icing, and walking out, i noticed that they had the same dalmations plates and party stuff i drove 2 hours for and i ended up getting more than just party stuff. i hope hubby doesn't have to go Krogering anytime real soon!! We boil 'em in oil and feed 'em to Shannon Green's family. (We've heard these occasions mark a significant upgrade in the family meal plan.) Actually about once a month we write the infamous "dun letter" to anyone who is either sender or receiver of a package not acknowledged. See, we don't know if the sender didn't send, the receiver didn't post, or the package is AWOL. We have had packages accepted by neighbors then forgotten. Someone else asked what happens to people who didn't send all the packages they were responsible for in the last round... let's just say they aren't playing until/unless they make good on the previous commitment. We also drop people mid-round, but not really fast enough. See, it takes us a month to know for sure a package isn't on the way, then if the sender is swearing they either sent it or will send it soon we back off for a few weeks. If it still doesn't show then we do drop the sender and reassign the receiver... but by this time the receiver is probably two to three packages short. But it's still the only way we know how to do it. We all know that sometimes life gets in the way of our fun and that doesn't make us deadbeats. I'm extremely grateful I don't have a SS receiver assigned to me right now!! Oh and about that boiling in oil? We really don't do that. We're not cruel, you know. We really just instruct the post office to lose every swap package of cards coming or going from the non-posting recipient. I once met Bill Clinton at a party so the USPS does what I say. And the non-US postal people know one of Frank's many cousin Guidos. It's a worldwide network. I really gotta go to bed. I'm going more wacko than usual now. ========================================================================= Janet Detter Margul | Real women don't have hot flashes... Being a teacher, I consider THOSE moments, you know the moments when a kid is rebellious, snotty, backtalks, etc., as the teachable moment... The child's "crap" is not about ME; its about stuff happening with the child. And in a certain way, the child is trusting me with a bunch of painful internal thoughts and feelings. If I am really on target, I KNOW that and respond accordingly. Yesterday, I actually said similar words to a young man who was blaming me for his poor grades and rotten attitude. He finished our conversation in tears...not angry ones...tears of unbelief that someone would support him in that way. I am now going off to write myself a reminder to "make" a bunch of little boxes and fill them each with a rock and to "stamp" a card for each with those words....This way, I'll be prepared for each of those "teachable" moments with q tangible expression of my complete faith in these young people and their ability to "get it together".... THANK YOU from not only me, but from all those who are going to be RAKed by a small stone and some loving words... It looked like it would be hard on my hands which I already have problems with. Sure sounds tempting.
