I had a hard time finding their address because they moved and changed the name of their company to AZALEA CREEK HANDICRAFTS. They sent me their new flyer of great images and I ordered some of their wonderful images, especially for a scenic stamper like myself. Here's the information that I've got: Azalea Creek Handicrafts/Craftsman-Style Rubber Stamps 490 Monterico Road Grants Pass OR 97526 They sell unmounted and mounted. Great service. Accepts checks and money orders, no credit cards. $2 for their catalog. Free unmounted rubber stamp is order is $25 or more. This is their current address, as far as I know. You are not just kidding here. And some teachers bemoan this because they think it is getting in the way of "teaching", as if one could teach content to a child who is dealing with "life threatening" experiences (divorce, family violence, family alcohol and drug problems, abuse of various kinds...etc.etc.etc.) As far as I'm concerned, content is the excuse to be with students. If a teacher supports students' basic qualities of character (honesty, for example...), the rest follows easily. Happy students LEARN...unhappy students frequently prevent learning from taking place for the whole classroom. Often, a teacher is NOT the right person to "fix" what is happening in a child's life. BUT we frequently see the acting out which indicates problems and it IS up to us to find appropriate help for the child. Every school worth its name has some kind of resource person/group which is responsible for this. Teachers MUST not take personally the poor behaviors of troubled kids, but rather recognize the problem for what it is and GET HELP FOR THE CHILD... And the fact that He indeed DID fulfill the old testament/law (dying on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins in order that man be reconciled with God) makes it complete...as in finished -- see Matthew 5:18, where it says "until everything is accomplished" (NIV). This means until the work of Jesus Christ on earth is complete (fulfilled)...that is what He died on the cross for...that is the completion of the old testament. The new testament (particularly in the Gospels) specifically tells us how to live as Christians. For starters, look at Matthew 5:21-48. It talks about murder, adultery, divorce, oaths, revenge and exhorts us to love our enemies. Also see Matthew 7:1-6 on judging others. In Mark 12:29-31, read "The Greatest Commandment". You can also find references in Luke 6:20-36. I'm sure there are many more references, but these are the most obvious to me. As Christians (followers of Christ) we need to learn to let go of the "old covenant" and live in the new covenant that has been set before us. It is quite difficult, and I am certainly not putting on a "holier-than-thou" attitude here. I am only trying to clarify the GOOD question that was brought up by Ant Judy. All 5 of my swappers signed their cards this time, so I know who to credit! Many thanks to Lisa for hosting this HUGE swap. Everyone really got creative within the one-stamp limit! Linda Daley started with white column cardstock and layered light pink torn mulbery onto it. On this she layered a smaller square of darker pink cardstock, and on this she layered white cardstock on which she has stamed a "LOVE" postoid (it's shaped like a stamp and divided in to 4 boxes, which have one letter of the word in each. This is embossed in gold and beautifully colored. She trimmed around the edge with scallop scissors. This would be a great Valentine idea! Shirley W used one of the PSX botanicals on white matte cardstock. This one is the water lilies image. She stamped and embossed in black and colored with markers or watercolors. she also stamped and embossed theimage again, then cut out the three dragonflies and layered them onto the orginal image with a bit of foam tape, for a 3-d effect. She edged the whole card with some sort of blue/green/silver foil tape or paper, I've never seen this before. She also included an envelope that has the dragonflies repeated on it. Very elegant! Sara Humphery-Knight started with a white glossy card. She rounded the edges and punched all 4 corners with a heart corner punch. She stamped a heart postoid (it has several concentric hearts surrounded by dots and wavy lines, all inside a box) several times on different colors of paper with different colors of ink. then she cut them out in different ways...one is cut completely out with wavy edged scissors, others have the hearts cut out of the middle (leaving the frame) and others are just different hearts. It looks like several different images but when you closely it's all the same one, just trimmed differently. Clever! The papers are all shades of pink and purple and so are the inks. These are all layered onto a background of purple netting or tulle--great background idea! Denise made an elegant vellum card. The white vellum over a white care really sets off the colors in her image. she stamped a floral heart and embossed it on gold, then colored it from behind in green and purple. Inside the card is a single flower from the front image, also colored. This would be a beautiful wedding or anniversary card! Finally, jennifer Roberton went all out with her card. Her image is a line of lighthouses on the seashore (note on the back says the stamp is from wildlife enterprises) which she stamped in black ink and then watercolored. Then she did something I've never seen before! She layered it onto some beautiful red handmade paper (this paper is also on the inside of the card) and then put a sheet of clear acrylic over it, and edged it with tiny strips of balsa wood for a framed effect! Inside she thoughtfully glued a rectangle of plain cardstock on top of the red paper to have space for a note. This card would look just beautiful on a shelf or mantelpiece! So there you have it. What excellent inspiring work! Thanks for another great swap Lisa!
