Re: dead fish printing -Reply Barb, I remember that Carol Duvall demonstrated this once a loooooong time ago on the (now defunct) Home Show during a week when all the shows were taped live in Hawaii. Carol printed the fish with a T-shirt (a dark one I believe) instead of paper! She also called it "fish printing." Leslie "Finger Print-cess" >>> 02/06/98 07:02pm >>> Used book sale going on at nearby mall. Yesterday I picked up an old, thin hardcover titled PRINT ART--A Whitman Creative Art Book, #1. It's intended for kids, but looked interesting. And I about flipped when I got to this page--I quote it in its entirety: "fish printing You need: a whole fresh or smoked fish (a frozen fish may be used if allowed to thaw), paint, a brush, and paper towels or colored tissue paper. The fishermen of Japan used to make prints of the biggest fish they caught. Here is how to make your own fish print! Brush paint over a fish, making sure to cover the scales, fins, and tail. Cover the painted fish with a paper towel or tissue paper and press the paper down with your hand, then carefully remove the paper." There are 2 pictures of a pretty blond girl in a sailor's blouse, happily applying paint to a dead fish, then pressing paper to it. Off to the side is the actual print of the fish. Of course, it doesn't mention using a DRIED fish . . . . If they are the jump rings I am thinking of, use a needle noses pliers. My husband used to work with jump rings in high volume and that's what he used. Hope this helps! :) StampaDeeDoDah (Dee) This message was from Scoupe95@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Thanks Ruth for the quick service and the really nice bath salts! I want to let you know that when our post office got the package, it was opened and they told me they didn't know if anything was missing from it. It was not torn open, it looked like the flap just came unglued. Did you use the metal tabs when you sent it? Anyway, I don't think I am missing anything. Queen of Everything I think I got a RAK from the Queen of Everything! It was a neat Valentine's card with a confetti flinger inside AND directions for making the flinger! I racked (no pun intended) my brains trying to find out which swap group she was in with me--CCCC, monthly swappers, etc. and decided *maybe* it was a RAK! Well, I sure appreciated the thot, no matter! And I have a card ready to send back, so I am hoping you are on the snail list! Thanks!
