They seem to settle out so that you have a layer of gunk at the bottom and I suppose you'd need to shake it up to remix. I tried doing this but is seemed to take LOTS of time to emulsify that gunk....I wasn't patient enough. My favorite rainbow pads are still Alice in Rubberlands rainbow pads. I love the wonderful color progressions they've worked out. Unfortunately, my understanding is that Alice is still not making rainbow pads now....and that there is a supply problem so that they can't get what they need to make more. I've heard 2 versions....that they can't get the ink and that they can't get the right uninked pads. I love the subtle gradation of color you get WITHOUT the slide-apart pad feature of the Kaleidacolor pads. However, these inks can bleed together and make a mess if you don't store them in your refrigerator. Cold storage slows or prevents the bleeding of inks. I have AIRL pads that are 3 years old and still work great(although I'd love to reink them)! Other dye-based rainbow pads I like are the Big & Juicy pads, the large LYTB pads and the Adirondack rainbow pads. These are all juicy enough to brayer with. The others (and I buy at least one of every dye-based rainbow pad brand I see) I've tried have been too dry and make you work much too hard to get nice results when brayering backgrounds (my primary use of rainbow pads). I don't much like the Kaleidacolor pads because their color progressions are rarely useful for me. I can only use the Lagoon, Harvest and the Birthstone pads. I've worked out some nice subtle color progressions using the Kaleidacolor pads and my own reinkers....but I do prefer pads without the slide-apart pads. I just did the Kaleidacolor ones to help out students who don't want to store their rainbow pads in the refrig. Happy Stampin New Year 1998 !! Still room for lots more players! Come and join us! This is my favorite monthly swap cuz it is so easy! Plus you get to see and collect a lot of the images that are out there........great for newbies especially! PROCEDURES: **Send ten (10)** cards 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch cards (half sheet of cardstock). Don't fold! Include an ADDRESS LABEL (SAML) for me to use to return the cards. **Send $1.00 for mailing the cards back** DON'T COLOR. Use WHITE - can be glossy or matte. Stamp in black ink that won't smear if colored with markers, or you can emboss. Tip: Vivid! or Outliners ink pads work great! EXCEPTION: Verses are ok in color - they seem to look better If you want to do different images on the cards instead of all the same, that is fine. Please include stamp credits. Put your name and e-mail addy on the back of each card. All cards must be postmarked by the last day of each month. Stamp things that will be EASY to cut out. Remember you will have to cut out what you get back to use to make your own cards. My address is: Eva J. The only exception is if you do a large stamp that can only fit a couple of times on the card, then the card can be cut in half and used like a mat. For example, a floral image from PSX is usually large, so just stamp the image twice on one card and the card could easily be cut in half. ** Procedures** Send TEN cards Send ONE DOLLAR + SAML Due in mail by end of each month.
