I love how diverse the cards are, which says someting about TH/RA. Diane Hare's card is wonderfully surreal. A woman lounges while a man falls...or leaps?...and a hand from beyond offers a dog (some kind of heavenly gift?) Captioned "To sleep, perchance to dream..." (I have a cat named Perchance! I'd never made the connection between her and one of my favorite phrase stamps.) All this is stamped in black ink on kind of a cloudy blue cardstock, then mounted onto dark green. Kim Michels' card has a mermaid lounging beside the ocean, dolphins leaping into the air, and a gorgeous sun behind. It's all colored and glittered. Great job on the water, sand, etc. (Getting those to look right can be hard--I know from experience!) It's really beautiful. The Rubber Goddess used three of RA's faces in the shapes (for lack of a better term...each one--square, circle, rectangle--has part of a woman's face in it...) Anyway, she stamped and colored these then arranged them diagonally over some fancy green and gold paper and then onto a greenish gray card. She added a scrap of paper (wonderfully torn) with the caption "The three faces of the Goddess." On the back she identifies the faces as "wife, me, mother". Really neat card. Kate Hill's card has two dancing figures embosed in greenish gold on a square of silver paper. this is layered over a wide gold net ribbon onto adark green card. In the bottom right corner of the card, she embossed two larger dancing figures in gold. I love this design. Sandy Kavanaugh's card is spectacular. The background is black spattered with white and gold paint of some sort. She used the face shape stamps, too. One is a rectangle showing a woman's eye--this is stamped on a larger rectangle of cardstock and then stamped around with passport type stamps. Then a view of a woman's nose and mouth is stamped in a triangular postoid....I can't describe it any better (and that wasn't very good), but it's just a gorgeous card and a really creative idea. Thanks to Kim Michels for hosting yet another wonderful swap! Leonardo is so cute in that movie! We went during the week when it was slow, but before that we went on Friday night. ROFL! Like we're really going to get in! Go see it on the big screen, it's well worth it!!! Bonnie Lass > > Nope , you are not the only one. We have had a Babysitter twice and went to > see it and could not get in ,because it was sold out. But I refuse to stop buying it's not in my vocabulary. I bought a 72" tall bookshelf had dh put in shelves 1 3/4" apart & I store my stamps inthose acrylic picture frames, well I am now working on my 3rd bookshelf unit, Plus i color code & number each tray & stamp. It's a very workable system, if I find time to finish ,I'm so hooked on swaps I can't stopstamping.. Well I guess this describes us all!!! As a newbie (your own self-description), and as I don't recall seeing your name in the past year and a half that I've been around, I guess you don't know the list well enough to know that this is exactly what you're going to be seeing if you stick around. Oh, there will definitely be stamping-related posts, but I'd venture to say a majority of the posts are NOT stamping-related. LOL - not meant as a flame, just an observation. I am one who deletes a lot and don't complain cause it's just easier to delete! In my opinion, I like seeing all the COMS, but when the same vendor posts the same ads over and over again (and I mean a lot), then that can be pretty annoying. But I just keep deleting them. In fact, some I don't even read anymore. But I do ask one favor, can everyone please remember to put TAN in their subject line if it isn't stamping related? It would make it a lot easier for those of us who do want to delete and you have to admit that some of these treads like what I drive or where I'm from or what they called me in school or whatever the TAN of the week is....these can keep going and going and going! So, please remember the TAN in your subject line and then you can post all you want!!!! BTW, I DID NOT put TAN in this subject line so that it would reach everyone!!! Including the people who filter out TANs. Just my opinion...I don't mind deleting just as long as there is TAN in the subject line. Geez, did I get long winded or what? She asked daddy whose it was and he replied "mummies of course" - that's because he only gets boring bills and I get the odd occasional decorated envelope! Anyway I will stop rambling - Once I had put Alice to bed I got to open the parcel all by myself DH being at college. First out of the parcel was some archival photo corners - I have had the odd card sent using these but alas hadn't any myself. Next came an amusing cat card from you on watercolour paper (two cats kissing) - appropriate with valentines day coming up. Next something for me to read - VSN February 1998 Some red card and white envelopes - I will keep these for when I start on my Christmas cards. finally a tissue wrapped parcel containing an Inkadinkado confetti/heart/star frame stamp - have not seen any of their designs before and this is going to prove a real useful stamp to have. Words alone cannot express my thanks for this second parcel. You had fun putting it together and I had fun opening it and will have more so playing with the bits n pieces.
