Another interesting fact, the Arcadians of Louisiana, fled Nova Scotia and Canada, settling in Louisiana, were more than just French. Sounds like a headline from National Enquirer! But I got a wonderful "tube RAK' from my neighbor, and fellow stamping cohort, Bibelots this week!! It wasn't signed, but as soon as I saw what was inside, I knew it was from her!! It came wrapped in a Pringles-type can stuffed with shiny red metallic tissue paper. Out fell a little flip book (you know--like they used for the earliest cartoons--you flip the pages and the pictures move??) Well, just for me (!) she picked one up titled, Smile, Mona--it's the Mona Lisa portrait and as you flip it, her face becomes humorously distorted and at the end she has a big smile on her face--too kewl! (She also told me they have one of VanGogh's self-portrait and at the end his ear is still floating past!! I have to get that one, too, now!) Also--a new thing for me--conversation jelly bellies! They are each printed with little tiny words! And some great red confetti, too! What a pal! Thanks, Deb!! Mona (smilin' now!) I had the good fortune to meet and have lunch with 2 wonderful Orlando area list members - Beverly Marubbio and Maralee Garst. Funny, but although we had never met each other before, I felt totally comfortable and at ease with these gals, as though we had known each other a long time! We talked and talked about all the toys we had or wished we had and all of the fun stuff that goes on - on the list! Maralee is a talented veteran stamper - although new to the list - and she brought a book to share - that she had made herself - filled with all sorts of lovely cards and projects. Very inspiring! Bev is a newbie, like me, but you'd never know it once she starts talking "Rubber"! The time passed all too quickly! I would have loved to have hung out longer with these 2 ladies - but was afraid the folks at my job might've thought I had been kidnapped or something! I certainly want to do this again!!
