I had hiked 3 Miles up(from the town below the mountain.) I told him how far I hiked and he thought I was crazy. We talked a little and he jogged off. FAQ and Unsubbing Wow! Thank you all for all the messages of encouragement and support!!! I am leaving to go out of town for 2 weeks (business) and then Jeopardy! is the week after that....so I'll probably be unsubbed for a couple of weeks at least, or maybe up to a month. I sure will miss y'all!!! I don't have time to answer all the notes individually but I did appreciate every one...thank you so much! A lot of questions came up over & over so I'll just answer them once, here: 1. Do they pay for me to go out there? Nope, it's my dime. fortunately, a) they've already checked our credit at the mortgage company so we can sneak some more charges onto the plastic now without endangering the house, and b) Jan heard Atlanta consumer guru Clark Howard mention a great airfare sale from Birmingham to points West, yesterday, so we were able to get $198 plane tickets from Birmingham to LA! Yay! That means Jan gets to go, too, which is a huge relief to me! 2. If I win do I have to pay taxes on it? You betcha! 3. If I win will I spend the money on rubber stamps? Duh! Well, at least some of it! 4. Will I tell y'all when it airs? But of course! it seems to be about 4-6 weeks between taping and air dates, and I've heard they tell you the general week it will air, then you kinda know when your episode is coming up cuz they show them in the same order they are taped, and someone who has been there will recognize the people they taped with. 5. Am I thrilled? Over the moon! This is a lifelong dream! I just hope I don't embarrass myself and everyone who ever knew me! 6. Will I reveal my "rubber habit"? Probably! They have you write down 5 "conversation topics" when you try out, and my stamping was one of them at that point. I think they have me update it, but I'll talk about if Alex wants to! I think that about covers it. I'll miss you all horribly, see you in a few weeks! Katchoo, off to pack up a teeny tiny stamping kit for my travels. What a great mail day I had today!! Finally, no bills just wonderful RAK's!! First one I opened was from my SSS person(that I sent to) from the last round, Carole Mork. Caroles card arrived here(and it didnt even go through SK Carole!) in a clear envy. It was white cs stamped with red hearts. Then layered with a white piece of mulberry paper. Then on top of that is a red heart embossed with white with some red confetti hearts. The bottom is cut with fancy scissors. The saying on the front: A friend is what the heart needs all the time. The inside is such a wonderful verse: You are one of the nicest persons I have never met!! Carol, I think the same of you~!! She also sent a little magnetic calender! Thanks! Then there is Nisa's card: on white cs is aa cute little cupid which says"Being the friend that I am, I thought I'd send a little love your way and get Cupid to sting you with his love arrow". Then near the cupid is "Not THAT Cupid...On the inside is the funniest picture and verse. A stamped pix of a guy(bare chested!!) with the saying: Mount me like a Rubberstamp, Baby! LOL What a great card!! Joy Morris: oooh this was a great RAK! The card is white cs, with the saying: Have you heard the latest? Friends dont let friends... then there are three ladies having tea. On the inside...the saying: Have empty mailboxes! With a picture of a "full" mailbox. Thanks for the packet of Woven Tapestry EP. How did you get the pix of the women on the front?? EP is my favorite! Then there is Karen Mayenburg. Such a lovely card! The card is a dk green cs. Which has swirls of gold. There is a strip of gold metallic paper down the right hand side. Also to the left side and the right side of the card is two strips that is a green mettalic glitter. There are two triangle pieces of paper that have green, blue and gold sponged on them. Layered on top of that is two gold embossed stamped peacock feathers. In the right hand corner are two hearts puched out. On the inside is another piece of cs, this one a ivory color, just a little smaller then the first. On the right hand side is a strip of glitter. The verse is wonderful. Karen, I really cant do justice to this card. Thank you for the letter of the complete description on how to make the card and all your hint. Now, I know why you love glitter. And now I no what to do with my glitter from my SS. I really enjoyed the card. Thanks to Carole as well for asking Karen to send me a sample!! SOOOOOOO many goodies! I'll start with my favorites: The ABC's of Stamping by Fran Seiford and Terri Ouellette. I love these ladies. I am starting to collect their videos instead of just borrowing them from the stamp store. I don't have this one. 3 wonderful stamps (I have none of these) 1."Each Day is a gift from God" by Stamps Happen 2. A Precious Moments "Chapel Etchling " by Stampendous. So now I can do a stained glass window card. 3. A Precious Moments word stamp Psalm 23:6 You could have stopped with these and I would have been very happy. But there is more. Theme: St. Patrick's Day = a green votive candle, a bar of green soap, green tube of body cream ( smells good) , foil wrap in green and silver, green ribbon, assorted colors of cs and postcards, forest green embossing powder, st.pat stickers, green cord, dollar sign$ confetti and shamrock confetti all overt the box inside , a green pen, a green embossing pen, caramel candy in green foil, green glue sticks , green "eyes" LOL, I have to use them on a card! and 3 paper molds?, she sent a Valentine's card so I know how to use them, and lastly, a dish towel holder that is crocheted yellow with a dishtowel (very big) and a small crocheted scarf holder that my SS says her grandmom made.Since I crochet myself , I really appreciate them both. This package came on a good day because I just "ran out of stamping ideas" and still have swap commitments I want to fulfill. So now my brain is starting to work again and the world problems have taken second place in my thoughts. "Within each problem is it's own solutions". I don't know where I got the saying from but that's what I've been telling my self lately as my DH and I face teenager problems. Thanks, KalicoKathy Psalm 139:1 "O Lord , you have searched me and you know me." _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
