How 'cha do that? Great 'guy' card-black shiny cs with red hearted holographic paper then layered with white cs printed with wood print or done on the computer? then red sprayed jigsaw pieces with gold hearts. Very nice. Michele--red cs with gold heart shaped doily with white mulberry piece with rose fancy trimmed oval with emb saying--and great corner angels-looks like a framed photo. And white emb HVD inside. Nice. Germaine--lots of many emb powders using the heart candies and the large one is 3-d by using pop dots-who makes this one? and a neat wavy Happy Val Day inside. So far, he hasn't....he has run away from his addiction and from the consequences. I'd really encourage you to get to some al-anon or nar-anon meetings. It sounds like you are enabling your brother "big time." Ask yourself if you want your children to see you accepting this kind of behavior. Is this a role model you want them to emulate? I have a son who is a recovering addict; as a result of his addiction, I went back to school and got my Masters in Clinical Counseling specializing in chemical dependency. I worked inpatient addiction for a number of years. I also know what it is like to tell someone you love that they need to make a choice between their addiction and sobriety. My heart aches for you having been there. My brain knows that you need to stop enabling your brother......if you ever hope to save him from his addiction. (you can stop here if you don't want the details). after gaining 70+ pounds from the medications and wearing a huge brace for almost a year--about 2 months ago i had been told that my 2nd spinal surgery had failed. i thought it was more than i could bare and i retreated to the bed for about 2-3 weeks just trying to think of ways to stop the pain and what seemed like a problem that would never never end. ( i've been dealing with this since my early 20's and had had at least 10 minor "procedures" that took anesthesia before the 2 major surgeries.) believe me, i probably should have been hospitalized under lock and key for some of the solutions that i was coming up with. i think this is one of the worst depressions i have gone through. the depression discussion was going on and i couldn't even bare to read them. it seems like i cry most of the time. i would delete 99% of the messages just because it was so overwhelming. my husband travels internationally while i have to get to the city for some horrible tests and i have no one in the bay area to rely on, since most of our friends and family are scattered throughout the country. most of the time i just do not know what to do. i look at my stamping studio and am just blank, but can do fine if someone is sitting in the room. i feel helpless and crazy. my dad told me the first words out of my mouth as a baby was "by myself", so i don't know how to explain how difficult this helplessness is. the next steps are more tests, some not so bad, some really painful. then they will decide where they will put the bars and bolts in the next surgery sometime this summer. please forgive me if i am late with acknowledgments and returning email. i am still at the point where i don't fully function well. thank you for letting me vent all of this. i just didn't want to to think that i was a slacker and wanted to sponge off the list. sincerely, kimberly davies FurMaid This message was from FurMaid - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. To do you a favor, I will take them off your hands. Just kidding! I have been wanting some for several months now. They are clear envys. You stamp a really pretty card & then the PO can see what a wonderful stamper you are! Please, Please if someone has been in contact with her, email me. I was her SS in 1st half of 97. I haven't heard from her at all, and have not seen her post to the list. I mailed a card to her and it came back, I had heard she was planning to move but don't know if she did or not. Germaine and all! Thank-you sooo much Germaine, for the wonderful swap that you sponsored! I had such a blast looking through the goodies from the great vendors. And the cards didn't look like anything a newbie would have done!! I got a card and envy from Lori Croswell who I happen to be somewhat acquainted with! She made a beautiful envelope with wallpaper and used some of the same wallpaper in her card which was a Mountain Lake scene from Stampendous and she did a beautiful job of blending to make the scene look realistic. Such a nice sentiment inside also! I have got to find myself some wallpaper samples!!! Michele Bergh made a very *sweet* card using a chocolate chip cookie stamp from Great Impressions. She stamped cookies all over the front of the card even adding some on top with mounting foam for a 3D effect. Her envy also had a cookie to match! The inside sentiment says"In the cookie of life friends are the chocolate chips!" So cute and very carefully done! Her masking was excellent!! Mine still often ends up with a halo effect around the edges. I am very impressed! "Party" is the sentiment inside of Beverly Marrubio's card and after getting this wonderful swap envelope full of great stuff that is exactly what I wanted to do!!! She made an envy with what looks like wrapping paper with two different sides one red and the inside of the envy was a multicolored floral with yellows that matched her cardstock. There is five chicks with party hats and some with balloons on the front with chicken prints around the outside of the front edge. Very clever!!! And too cute!!!! The vendors in this swap were very generous and they have been mentioned in other descriptions of this swap. I have already had some experience with Sue at Wacky Wagons and am so glad to have her product list because she has great stuff. I have also purchased from Sheryl Porter and she is also great. She sent a tiny scribble heart and a HALOS block to mount it! Inky Antics sent some sample cardstock and THREE!! um dies. What a treat! Shari at Paper Arts sent a little paper sample packet with some neat stuff in it! Debbie Gleason- Morgan sent a small fur de lise um with some cushion and a paper describing the technique of mounting using these items. This is something new I might try! Karen Harris sent some beautiful marble cs! And last but certainly not least was a goodie bag from Germaine with a magnet, door knob hanger, vellum, a huge envy and book mark paper. Thank-you soooo much everyone! Germaine your a GEM! I had a great time with this swap and wish I could join more but I am going to have to unsubscribe for a few weeks maybe even months.... We are preparing our house to sell and looking for land etc. Too much to do!!! Hopefully, I will be able to keep track of the paperwork so I can resubscribe after the dust settles. I'll miss you all while I am having my morning tea!
