I just finished painting glass for the first time... and now I'm thinking about trying to rubber stamp a few pieces as well. I'm not sure how to get a nice even coat of paint on the stamp tho....just brush it on?? When painting, I used some of the MacKenzie Phillips type patterns on my plates and wine glasses... and tiny rosebuds on the vases... and I bought some Corel bowls (on sale!) in plain white for my girls to paint too... This is really fun... DH opened the oven the other nite and saw I was cooking dishes for dinner....we ended up eating Chinese! I'm currently using the "glossies" paint... but am thinking of trying the Delta next (you don't have to heat cure, but you have to put a gloss coat over your painted surfaces and cure for a couple of weeks.).... You want to know a little about me so hear goes. I am kind of in awe of you because you have been stamping for so long. I am very new to stamping (2 months) and reluctantly joined the SSS after friends at stamp club talked me into it. I know that Bev says that you would like it if I would make a card or something like that for you, but I know that they are not good enough yet to actually send to anyone. Before this round of SS is over I hope to make one to send you. I have joined one swap and the hostess assured me that what I sent in for the swap was fine. I was so relieved to hear this from her. I haven't really decided what my stamping style is. I don't have a lot of stamps yet (although my pocket book is showing that my collection is growing!) I do read all your posts and enjoy them. Please be patient with me for the remainder of this swap - I'm trying! I am sorry you had to wait so long on your January package. I didn't think it would take so long for the mail. As of January 15, 1998, she sold her business to another stamp company.....and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of that company. However, the stamps are still available and really wonderful. Lots of great images of women, hands, some great sayings....definitely "non cute." The oad Hall side of the company has some fun images of frogs and toads and some truly outrageous - -ly funny sayings. Wish I could tell youwho bought her out...because most of their designs are still available through the buyer. Perhaps someone on the list can refresh my memory and help you out. There was only one rule- the swappers had to use stamps that they received for Christmas. It was fun to see all the different techinique and stamps involved. It got such a great response, I will be doing this swap as an annual swap. This gave both new and "old" stampers a chance to do their thing! Everyone did a great job, thanks very much! Abreviations: CS - cardstock CP - corner punch V - vellum FS - fancy scissors EP - embossing powder FP - felt pens GP - glossy paper PC - pencil crayons BGP - background paper WC - watercolor MP - mulberry paper AIG - Art Institute Glitter Kim Albert: This cute card is made on cream CS. The front is stamped with a little bear family sitting with a picnic basket. The image is brightly colored with FP. Above them are 2 butterflies. These are colored with Fp and detailed with prisma glitter. The inside is stamped with "love makes life more bearable" in a rainbow pad. neat stamp!!!! Thanks Kim! Michelle Bergh: This colorful card is made on white CS. The front is totally covered with what looks like an airbrushing of all sorts of colors (could also be a background stamp) ( am I right???) the top and bottom edges are stamped with a scribble checkered border in multicolors. In the center of the card is a "hand-drawn" looking stamp of a darling little girl holding a big country heart. "From the heart" is directly above her head. The stamped image is also in multicolors. What a bright card! Thanks Michelle! Donnajo Troup: This beautiful card is made on white CS. The front is stamped with a large birdhouse with roses growing up the pedistal. I wear it cuz I miss my cousin Andy, and I don't wanna miss anybody else.. so it'll stay there til there's no more need to wear it.. or however long beyond that it takes me to get it off.. hmmm.. maybe I'll just assign it another cause when this one's over.. it looks pretty permanently stuck there. anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. This is SO Cool! We have a new computer at last. Our IBM was almost 5 years old. We went from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 (where is everything now?) 170 mb hard drive to 6.4 GB!!!! 20 RAM (4+16 added) to 64 RAM 20mhz to 266mhz (hey, Computer--wait for me!) 24x CDrom What's really great is when we went back to buy the one model from Micro Center, they were out, so they were selling the next level up for the price we would have paid for only 5+ measly Gigs & 233 mhz. :-) Wish I could just sit & play with it, but there's always something else demanding my attention. Which just shows Sara, Joan, Marsha & Elizabeth how high they rate with me, because even tho' I was a half an hour late getting there because we were trying to get this set up, I left MY :-) brand new computer in the hands of my DH & went to play with them instead.
