I really enjoyed opening it. The first thing I pulled out was the photo corners, **just** what I needed to finish my "Winter" swap cards! I love the confetti stars and they look great with the teal ink, what a yummy color! I had just ran out of black EP, so I was very pleased to find a new jar in the package. Perfect timing! I also appreciate the cardstock and corner scissors, very generous of you, Michele! Please know that your package really brightened my day, thank you. You made this exchange fun! I went to an orthopedic who specializes in hands and feet. He developed a new way to do the surgery. I had one tiny cut...about 3/4 of an inch parallel to the heel of the hand. This was on a Friday. For the weekend I wore a huge "bat" bandage to protect the surgery. On Monday I went for a check-up and was given a large bandaid over the wound. On Tuesday I went back to work. I worked at the time in a high school library. For about a week I had some difficulty writing and then it continued to get better for a couple of months til I quit noticing that I had a problem. At the same time as I had surgery, a teacher at school also had surgery, but at a different doctor. She was told NOT to write or hold anything in her hand for over a month. She ended up not getting her hand usage back totally...probably 75%....mine isn't 100% either....but probably better than hers, however she had much worse symptoms than I did to begin with. I still get tingly in my fingers once and a while but not of the sudden sharp pains that I use to get. I'd do it again in a heart beat. We moved 3 months ago into a new home and I lost my stamp room. Now I share an office with my hubby. I have less than 1/2 the space I used to have. So, now I have been trying to find a way that works. I had my hubby take the doors off of the closet first off. In it I have placed a 5 ft. tall x 3 ft. wide bookcase. On the shelves I have the clear plastic shoe boxes with the contents labeled. At the present time, I have 20 different catagories. Beside the bookcase, I have a 2-drawer filing cabinet that I store my HALOS and my static vinyl stamps in. There is also another cabinet the same size, but with 10 drawers (2-1/2" deep each). In those drawers I am putting my glitters, flocking, etc. On top of the 2 cabinets I have plastic file folder holders to store my templates, patterns, laminating sheets, papers, etc. Next to the closet is my desk. On the opposite side of my desk from the closet I have another cabinet, this one has 6 drawers instead of 10, and the top section holds file folders. This is where I am keeping my Catalogs and order forms. Beside that cabinet, I have a printer stand with my 5-drawer wooden stamp cabinet. I store my wood mounted stamps there. And lastly, I have a 6 ft. tall x 3 ft. wide cabinet that I used to use for fabric storage. I now use it for storing my tubs of embossing powders, tin of buttons, shoebox full of postage stamps, etc. I am still getting things organized, But should be about finished by the end of the week! Since I am going to another convention next month, I knew I had to get it done. Oh, almost forgot, I have a 4-shelf cart with wheels that I keep the most used stamping supplies on. Things like my ink pads, clear & black EPs, LePlume markers, baby wipes, etc. Then I just pull it over to the desk or out to the dining room table when I have some stamping to do. Hope someone will be able to get some ideas from this rambling. I make cards for RAKs and swaps and birthdays. I just make them and send them. After there sent, I have no idea of which card I sent where. Then I get a thank you, sometimes with questions. What stamp did you use, what kind of coloring, is that glitter, what kind of scissors did you use. I don't even remember what card I sent, (Old Age, I can use that excuse). How do you answer people. TIA TV Lady >> I make notes of the CCCC cards that I send... cuz there's so many of them, and I don't want to send the same card out twice. - -Fran the Frantic Stamper :-@ This message was from FranRShaw@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I was going through Zellers today (a Department store) in Miramichi... saw a lady taking all the envelopes from the card rack and throwing them in a cardboard box. I asked her what she was going to do with them ... she said, "Oh, they just get thrown in the garbage." So ... Scrounger here asks if she can have *some*. I left with a cardboard box full of envelopes, various sizes, assorted colours .... seemed to be quite a few in it. Stopped at a card store on the way out of the mall, and asked if they had any envelopes ... that lady gave me a shopping bag full.... Separated, categorized, banded and ..... counted them ..... when I got home. Gleepers ... I had **933** free envelopes!!!!! About 700 are red ... oh well ... I like red!! Made another stop at a place where they print newspapers; asked for a few endrolls of newsprint paper (it doesn't have anything printed on it) ... it's on a roll about 4' wide, and is unbleached ..... great for wrapping gifts, cleaning windows, packing your dishes for a move ....... I left with 2 huge rolls of that stuff - there's about a mile of paper on each of the two rolls they gave me. Wadda haul ...and all the better because it was free!! Oh ... and plus ... the G/S took me to lunch at Pizza Hut (heehee ... he paid). A Scrounger's Motto: There's lotsa free stuff out there ... thinking of a way to use it might stretch your creativity and shrink your living space.... Ant Judy H.
