I had to wait an extra day to receive all these goodies, but WOW, today was a fantastic mail day. I not only got the January Image Swap (which I'll describe in a minute), I also got my RSM, my March/April RubberStamper, and a catalog (that I didn't order) from Heritage Handcrafts in Littleton, CO. It's full of brass embossing templates, light boxes, stationery, inks, glitter, acid free album supplies, and scissors. Oh boy, can't wait to sit down and look through all of these. Ok, the image swap. This is being hosted by Eva Koyama and January's swap was for Easter or Floral images. I got the following: Barbara MacFarland: two large baskets of all kinds of different flowers. Sherry Kroll:Two large flowers (I don't know what they are, but they are pretty) and two sets of tulips. Eva Koyama: Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know what these flowers are either, but there are 3 sets of them and I really like them. They are from Embossing Arts. I'm going look up the stamp in my catty as soon as I'm through here. Linda Farrell: Two large flower pots with tulips in them and in the center is a fairy peeking out. I love this. Is this all one stamp, Linda? Pam (Foxtee): A large PSX heart with tons of flowers all over it. Beautiful. Rubbermaid: Two large bouquets stamped and embossed in black on white glossy cs tied with a large bow. Very very pretty. Sanda Hampson: A full card with gadiolas, daisy, daffodils, waterlillies, hibiscus', rosehearts, tulips, nosegay, forget-me-nots, and peddlers pack. What a great card. I didn't think about putting so many stamps on my cards. I'll keep this in mind for my next image swap. Thanks, Sandy. Jessica Edwards: Sunflowers and leaf set from HRS. This is a really cute stamp set. Oakley: potted flowers (3) and 3 stylized flowers and leaves. Just the right size for corners of cards. Kandice Helsius: Blower baskets from Stampendous filled with all kinds of flowers, Sunflowers from Blackriver Stampworks, and a beautiful Butterfly/flower from Stampendous. I just order this stamp so I could make some bookmarks. Thanks to everyone for these great images, and thank you Eva for being the hostess for this massive swap. I don't know how you keep it all straight. Looking forward to the next month's images. I have come back!!!!! I want to apologize for running out before my deadline but I had to leave town on a family medical emergency. My mother is "Very" ill and the Dr.'s called and told me I should come. We (my whole family of 6) packed, made arrangements for animals, schools, friends, etc., and made the drive to Portland in 4.5 hours. (now if you've ever packed for that many for a planned trip just multiply by 10) (and the actual driving time is about 3 hours!). We arrived at the hospital, talked with my mom some and the attending nurse was impressed with her responses. The next day she was virtually unresponsive, the Dr.'s wanted to know what her wishes were etc. by Thursday I was sick, went to the Dr. got medicine for awful infection, hubby went alone Thursday night to visit and called with great report that mom was sitting up, talking and looking forward to seeing the kids. Bob and I visited Friday morning and told her we would come back after supper. We also decided that we should come home since I was still not well and there wasn't much more to do. When we got to the hospital Friday night she had been moved from ICU to a regular ward and was really able to answer the questions about herself that we needed to know. We left for home I managed to sleep most of the way. By Saturday my mom was talking more and eating more which is more helpful. By Sunday night I was still so sick I couldn't get the fevers to quit and it was still really hard to breath so hubby packed me off to the hospital. The good news is my heart is fine, my lungs are clear, and I have the flu. By this morning I'm still spiking a few fevers but they are not as frequent....I still feel like road kill, and it's really hard to concentrate. So please give me a few more days to recoup and I will try and catch up with everything. So when I got to the counter with my purchases , I said " I have to tell someone . . ." and told her (the owner) about it. Well she looked at me like I was speaking some foreign tongue and proceeded to tell me that she thought VSN was a lousy rag yadda yadda yadda. I felt like shit. *And* she did this loud enough for everyone in the shop to hear her. Talk about being humiliated. I left my stuff on her counter and walked out. Funny thing is, when I got home and went onto the AOL RS BB (pre list days ) and told mysorry story, Suze Weinberg chastised me for publicly telling uncomplimentary tales about a stamp shop. Huh???! I for one *want* to know if a store treats its customers with respect or not. I never thought that bad customer service was to be kept secret.
