Point your web browser at http://crafts.dm.net/ . - - ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Feb 1998 19:20:56 -0800 From: Dawn Subject: RS: TTPO4 swap (update 2/17) There's still plenty of time to sign up! Torture The Post Office (or "Tickle The Post Office", if you're a member of Amnesty International) is a fun swap that takes very little work! Please tell me if you want to send TTPO's to other countries, too! ***Swap: TTPO4 (stands for Torture [or Tickle] The Post Office 4th round) ***Sign Up Deadline: Feb. 28, 1998 ***Items must be mailed no later than March 7, 1998 ***Facilitator: :-D awn, sunrise@wolfenet.com ***Details: When you sign up, send me your snail addy--even if you're sure I already have it. This will make it much easier for me. I will then set up groups of 6 people. (You can ask to be in more than one group and request to be or not to be [that is the question] in the same group with someone else--like last time someone was in the same group with her SSS--just a little dicey, don't you think?). After I get a group set up, I will email you everyone's addresses. You will then mail the other 5 people their mystery items. ***Notes: To make tracking easier for me: When you post to the list, please say *who* you got your item from. Which means that when you send items, please put your return addy on them! Thanks!!! ***Swap Description: The idea of this swap is to send each other items that are not wrapped in paper or boxes. Preferably they are unusual shapes. You know, things to make the postal carriers scratch their heads and say, "I've never seen anyone send one of *those* through the mail before!" or "Why would anyone mail *that*?" Put your postage and address label directly on the item or securely tied to the item. Part of the fun of this swap is to see what condition your item arrives in--so don't feel bad about broken items or things that never show up. Haunt thrift shops for cheap items! When you receive your item, describe it to the list in a mysterious way. This is part of the fun, to try to guess what was sent to the other players. At the end of the swap, we'll "unveil" what we sent. But wait until after March 7, okay? That way everyone gets to play. ***Examples of past items sent: Clear plastic bag full of dried sardines, full bottle of honey (in those squeezable bear shapes), plumber's helper, bucket with candy in it, shoes, inflated balloons, pool toys, tampons (in the box--but not wrapped)...these are just examples--use your imagination. Fly! Be freee! ***Another Note: If you didn't send your items from TTPO2 or TTPO3, then you may not be in TTPO4 until you've fulfilled your obligation from before. Players (so far!) If you don't have a group number after your name, don't worry, I'll assign you a group as soon as we get enough people signed up. In our lifetime, we are given a gift. The gift of friendship. Some friends stay with us forever. Some we only meet briefly. Whatever the length of time, we are touched forever. Every persons footprints, leave a lasting mark, on our soul. To have loved a friend, and be given the love in return, Is perhaps gods greatest gift. When my life has ended, it is not money, nor possessions that will justify my time here. It is my friends, those who will shed a tear, those who will remember my smile, those who can tell a funny memory, or just talk about me for a while. Those friends, who have touched me, and I them, are what I shall leave here as my memory, a forever friend. - --part6_887653082_boundary-- - --part5_887653082_boundary-- - --part4_887653082_boundary-- - --part3_887653082_boundary-- - --part2_887653082_boundary-- - --part1_887653082_boundary-- - --part0_887653082_boundary-- - --------------9F96D0E0FE1E06503B30ECEC-- - --------------53152BE5996E307305FC67CC-- - --------------53FB51124D91F493F5EC6F7A-- - --------------FDA937EDF19FE27B4DCE1BAF-- This message was from "Alicia S.
