One was from my MIL so I don't need to describe that....:) Got a beautifully done card from Victoria Banaszak. It's got a fawn and 2 rabbits dressed up for the holidays in front of a bunch of trees. Lots of glitter and snow and I'm not sure what it's done with. Whatever it is, it looks cool! DH got a card from Sharie Rose. Gorgeous card, gold embossed hearts and Happy Valentine's Day on vellum, edged with Ripple Fiskars and tied on maroon card with a gold bow. The top corner is curved around so the maroon shows very well. I'm not describing this very well, but I love the card! Got a Valentine card from Leilani; she's in my adoptive family (my aunt, maybe??). It's very small with silhouettes of a boy and girl about to kiss. There's a tiny sparkly heart between them and it say's Be Mine! Inside is a heart w/ Happy Valentine's Day inside it. Thanks, Leilani; I didn't know you could mail something that small. Now I'm going to try it! Queen of Everything (sorry, the envy is gone and I don't know your real name) sent a card to Tom. On burgundy/brownish cs are some cute phrases and the backsides of 2 angels holding hands, embossed in silver. Or maybe gold, it's hard to tell in this light. I think the inside message is computer-generated. Thanks! And last but not least.... A really cool card from Wendie Wu. It's on red cs with little red spotties all over. A diver on the bottom, swimming toward a big porthole that's been cut out and has transparent blue paper behind shaped like waves. Through it shows a little bag that has a Miracle Fish in it. You know, the kind you hold on your palm and if it does certain things that's your fortune. Apparently today is a very good day for me; it told me I'm passionate. She is Nancy Elrick from Canada. One of the things I realized today was the need for more adoptions on this list. There are a lot of people on this list with amazing talent and knowledge about stamping. There are also a lot of newbies that could use a Mom to ask questions to. I think sometimes we forget that it is hard to public post questions for fear of embarrassment. If you have just one person to ask, that you know will help you out, you might be more likely to ask. The more you ask the better your stamping will become. So my challenge to all experienced stampers is to adopt a newbie and to all newbies to post to the list asking for a Mom. In return for all that your Mom will do for you, all that is asked is that when you feel comfortable enough with your stamping to please return the favor and adopt a newbie of your own. To all prospective Moms - keep in mind this does not have to cost you anything except a little bit of your time. I can't reiterate enough some of the things Betty has said. I get a bunch of mail every day and I do sometimes get only a check, nothing to tell me what it might be for. If you are sending an order to a vendor, please enclose a note at least as to what the check is for. This helps us to get up to speed faster on your order. SAML are FANTASTIC!! It's oh so much easier than looking up your address. And with the club as well as wholesale and regular retail orders, this is a big slow down! And many of you have started using your Zip+4 codes. This makes things so much faster getting to you. For those who don't know what your Zip+4 is, you can get is easily by looking on any utility bill you have. The Utility companies all send bulk mail and you must have a zip+4 to send bulk. Start using this just as you would you 5 digit code. You'd be surprised how few things get lost, delayed and messed up when you do! Thanks to all who read this!
