OK besides being really stupid, I am shocked that a magazine that I thought had a fine reputation would do such a thing - please, is there some other explanation? Please God, let there be another answer ... or everyone's submitted artwork could be subject to unflattering manipulations. Ant Judy H. - --------------snip------------ >><< Once we submit material to magazines, I suppose it's at their discretion as to what they do with them. I do however, feel like we as rubber stampers should be aware that our submissions are subject to alteration. >> - ------------------------------ First I want to say that I think what Rubber Stamper did to you was lousy. Second, I have to disagree with what you said above. If I send artwork in to a magazine for submission, I expect them to either accept or reject my work as a whole. Not to have it ripped up and used in parts. "Gee, this background paper technique is nice, lets rip off the artwork and spotlight the background!" I don't think so Tim! If this magazine has a habit of "altering" submissions, there's no way I am ever going to submit anything to them. And if any of you reading this value your own work and its integrity, I would suggest you think about this yourselves. We are artists and our work belongs to us, submitted to a magazine or not. Our work deserves the same respect as that which would be given to a famous established artist, which a few of us may one day be. I know I'm rambling but this has me so incensed I can't think straight and am running on emotion. The nerve! The gall! The audacity! If they wanted to use your idea for photos they should have had a staffer make up a model for those photos (and sorry but that guy in the veil looks plain stupid. Its an insult to have your work covered up by something like that) and have given you credit for the *idea*. But to blatantly cover up your art is inexcusable. Seems to me there is a copyright issue involved here too. Joan??? Feathers - extremely ruffled! If updates are being made to the website, it would be unaccessible. Also, server connections go down (no fault of the web page owner) making sites unaccessible also. Over the last couple of years, I spent many hours "cruising the net" and have found that some days I can access a site while on others, I can't. My suggestion would be to try again tomorrow. =) Jeanne This message was from Crzycrft@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Yes folks, she sent me this order all the way to Australia and I assure you it was well worth it. The confetti is so great and something quite different that I have seen here in Australia. The envelopes too will come in very handy and make my cards all that more fun to receive - opps I guess that is a promise to start sending raks. Thanks Shaunna for the great service and sending it to Aussie. I will be placing another order very soon. So do the wild thing and get your order in for some great fetti for those wonderful cards, you all make. Opps I guess this announcement means I can't share these great goodies with my SST.
